The hotel is a bit old but it’s really cheap. The staff is very kind and helpful. We booked a Western Japanese room and got a great sea view with Hirado bay, castle and bridge. The dinner was excellent! The food are delicious! Abalone and beef are great! The bath here was interesting experience. You could enjoy onsen while watching the big fish tank. Breakfast here was a local one. The lemon sweet potatoes is remarkable.

Not an easy hotel to find, even with GPS, and if there are signs from the street they're not in English. It's a largish hotel with several blocks set on the hill side with quite confusing floor numbering. We had a Japanese style room which was quite tired and dated and had a very small bathroom. The redeeming feature was the fantastic view encompassing the town, harbour, castle, and gateway bridge to Hirado, we reckon no other hotel in town has quite such a good view.

Beautiful setting tucked up in hills. Very quiet and peaceful. Wonderful and friendly staff. Ate a whole farm at dinner, was delicious. Room is comfortable with it's own rotenburo. The onsen water turns on around 11pm and is ready to use again around 6am. WiFi available in cafe area next to the front desk.

Mom's House is a newly built guest house with owner's idea to have a resort like space right in front of Arasaki beach in 2017. Guests come from all over the world to enjoy a short weekends get away to have a beach holiday in the summer or simply chill here, go fishing as fishing place is next to the beach.

This sea facing hotel is a great place for your Hirado trip. It's little away from the main town, about half a kilometre, but located in a quite place with a gr at sea view from all room windows. The Japanese style room was excellent, spacious with separate bathroom and toilet and wash basin. It also has a hot spring which is a great way for taking away your tiredness after a long day. The breakfast was simple Japanese style with bread and rice options and was delicious. The price is reasonable. Highly recommended if you are in Hirado.

Hirado Island is what I class as traditional Japan. We spent two nights here towards the end of our tour around Japan in this classic ryokan, which is furnished in the traditional Japanese style with futon mattresses on the tatami mat floors. The rooms, food and onsen here were highlights of our trip. As we were reaching the end of our second week together we had all reached the point of stripping off and sitting naked with fellow travellers in the onsens without embarrassment. The female one had a beautiful outlook over the gardens and water I can’t comment on the males as I didn’t venture in. Each evening we had wonderful dinners (see photos) at traditional tables, there was plenty to go around and it was truly delicious. What was also novel was that you were also in charge of cooking some elements of the dishes too. Same with breakfast where you had eggs to fry. The lovely owners stood on outside the hotel and frantically waved us goodbye every time we left waiting until we were no longer in sight. A true Japanese experience.
