Quite basic, quaint but clean, could have been a few more comforts, like softer towels, somewhere to put the shower gel when in the shower etc. Staff very helpful, adequate for the price.Continentsal breakfast fine.

Hostellerie Kemmelberg is a 4-star rated hotel located on Flanders highest hill "Kemmelberg". It has 23 rooms of which 12 offer a superb view on the French-Flemish plain. The hotel is ideally located for those who want to have to good rest, a romantic week-end or those who want to visit Ypres, Poperinge, the Belgian coast or Northern-France (Lille, Cassel, Dunkerque, ...). It hosts also a well known gastronomical restaurant.
Hostellerie Kemmelberg is a cosy, calm, and quiet place for a weekend out of the city. Friendly and helpful staff, COVID conscious, beautiful views and scenery, and delicious 3 course meal and good breakfast buffet. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again.

THis hotel was the low point of our Holiday - and its not exactly cheep. On check in there is a memorial to the previous owner, the place gives the appearance that the new owners have let standards slip. In effect its a large pub, with lots of tables in an inside/oustide dining area, with a few rooms. World cup football was on the big screen, with few people arround to watch it. We were the only people staying. The 1st room we were given was a twin, with only one bed made up. It stank of moldy bathrooms. The 2nd was a quad with 2 beds made up, it smelt less so. The balcony had overflowing ash trays on it - yuck !! The "buffet" breakfast was rationed out to us, we were sat in a huge dining room all on our own .........

Beautiful, charming, quiet, and cozy B&B in a great location for touring the Flanders Fields area. The room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated, and had a scenic view. Because of the Covid restrictions in place, it was required that we eat our meals in the room. Hilde and Xavier did a fantastic job, with a generous breakfast and delicious dinners that included local products and homemade specialties. I fully recommend to any fellow Americans (and everyone else of course!) as an ideal base for exploring the area!

Our accommodation is located near the beautiful city of Ypres, in the middle of historical sites of World War I, but also in one of the quietest places in Flanders. •Golfclub De Palingbeek and other ones in France (Bondues, Lille), are only 10- 20 miles away. •Lille, the capital of French Flanders, is really nearby. •The Somme, battle area of the First World War, can be visited from here! •Fields, hills and woods surround us.: Mount Kemmel, Bois du Gheer at Ploegsteert and the French border are only a few miles away from our farm. •This is the ideal place for biking, walking, golfing or horseback riding. •The 'Ice Mountain' (indoor skiing) in Comines is only a 10 minutes drive.
Found this B&B by chance via a generic website and so glad. My father has always wanted to tour this area from a historical point of view and being 81, comfort is key. This did not disappoint. Information regards sites to visit was freely available from either the hosts or via leaflets in the large guest room (stocked amply with awesome local beer). It is sited within easy rech of major roads, but close enough to rural areas, to be the besrt of both worlds and offer easy exploring. The room was well appointed, comfortable and made up as requested, although being 6"1" I had to do a little ducking here or there, but that is part of the charm of a converted stable and not a complaint. Breakfast was downright awesome. Deleicious fresh fruit and continental trimmings; nothing was too much trouble and if you ran out of anything you frankly have a huge appetite. I would wholeheartedly recommended this B&B without question

We stayed at this wonderful retreat when in the area for the Passchendaele 100 event. We were thrilled from the moment we arrived. Bart and his family welcomed us and offered us wine and nibbles. We had asked for an evening meal as we were not sure when we would arrive. The meal was absolutely delicious. It turned out Bart is a chef, has written cook books, won prizes for his recipes and teaches 'cooking' at a local college. Breakfasts and the other meal we had were equally delightful. In addition it transpired that the farm had been a British command post in WW1. Bart showed us original maps and aerial photos and artefacts he had found in the fields.

We stayed 3 nights in the apartment it was clean, well equipped and modern. It was quiet and very peaceful, reasonable price for a short autumn break, but the absolute stand out thing was how welcoming, helpful and friendly the lady was. I would have no problem recommending this place, looking forward to going back.

B&B Haere Mai is situated in the peaceful countryside of Heuvelland. The Flemish Hills offer lots of opportunities for relaxing walks and cycle tours, horse riding and motorcycle touring. But besides nature there is gastronomy, music and history. In the many restaurants and pubs you can taste the local cuisine and beers, often accompanied by live music. The memory of the Great War in Flanders fields is still alive, the historic cities Ieper and Poperinge are nearby.

Kortom: we come again. Enige miniminpuntje: geen verlichting s nachts op weg naar toilet. ?
