Country ramble or city break? You can do both at Premier Inn Hotel Hemel Hempstead West, with the Hertfordshire countryside and central London within easy reach. And, with plenty of transport links nearby, you'll be in a great spot for business too. Spend the morning walking the rolling chalk hills of the Chilterns, with maybe a pit stop at a pub for some lunch. Then in the afternoon you could take the family to Whipsnade to see the UK's biggest zoo. Or why not take a train into London to do some shopping in the West End? Then come back to the hotel for a meal in our restaurant, the Kitchen, and a comfy bed in your room.
Rooms were clean but far too hot. Pre-ordered evening meal, waited over an hour and half, when it arrived it was luke warm, just cooked chips and cold steak. Ordered a starter, arrived after main course, unpeeled prawns, swimming in flavourless oil and garlic bread with no garlic. Don't bother, go to McDonalds over the road.

For a laid-back break on the outskirts of London, look no further than our Premier Inn Hemel Hempstead Central hotel. You'll only be a short walk away from The Snow Centre, where thrill-seekers can hit the UK's largest indoor slope for skiing and snowboarding lessons. There's also an alpine-themed restaurant on-site in case you fancy stopping for a coffee. Hemel Hempstead is also home to Hatfield House and Knebworth House - two stately homes that are well worth a tour. Or you could treat the kids to a day out at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Back at the hotel you can look forward to a tasty meal in our Thyme restaurant, before relaxing on a super-comfy Hypnos bed and watching the latest shows on your Smart TV.
Requested a fourth towel for our family of four but it never arrived. However, most annoyingly, we had no power to our sockets in the morning when I tried to turn the kettle on. We advised reception and they said they would send someone up but no one arrived. I had to attend a meeting with wet hair and minimal charge in my phone. Sent a feedback email and received a wholly unsatisfactory response. We won’t reroute to Hemel Premier Inn.

Well organized with regards emails sent regarding confirmation of booking and upon replying details about the facilities offered opening and check in times and the parking on offer nearby. Great friendly welcome on booking in and being shown to the room. A well cared for and loved building. Exceptionally clean in all areas. Food well cooked and nicely presented offering great value for money. Well organized and friendly service at breakfast time from both Carole and Michelle. Thankyou to Brett Ben and the team for a great stay. We would stay here again if in the area as we were visiting Harry Potter World but would definately recommend to anyone looking to saty here.

I was slightly apprehensive but this hotel was recommended to us. The value for money is very good. It is not luxurious but perfectly comfortable and pleasant, well kept, and the owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Some reviewers have complained about breakfast but there was everything we needed. I guess that for a continental breakfast, the lack of any fresh (only packaged) croissants etc. would be a disappointment, and everything fitted on a small table. There was also cooked food, which was extra, and porridge, which was included but they should make this clear on their menu. Overall, very satisfied.

We booked on the morning of our short break and were pleasantly surprised at how good the service we received was. We read some of the negative reviews and I would like to state that our room was not noisy and the shower worked very well, super powerful. The staff were excellent and the whole place was clean and looked after. Highly recommend well done Travelodge.

We recently had the misfortune of staying at this hotel which i could only describe as a drug den. We returned to our room after dinner with our young family to a wall of cannabis smoke on our floor. Having to explain what this smell was to our children was upsetting to us as parents. The fire alarms were being set off worrying my children and wife further. We stayed here to visit the Harry Potter tour which was ruined by the our stay at the Holiday Inn. Our complaint fell on deaf ears and the duty manager seemed unconcerned to say the least, i can only assume this is a regular occurrence. I would not recommend staying here with a family.

From seeing this hotel on the website to real life, It is like being in two different places As you approach the hotel, the driveway and entrance to the hotel is very overgrown and weeds not been cleared for a long time. Inside the staff are very friendly, however lack basic training and knowledge of the products they sell. The waiter didn’t know the difference of any type of red wine. There was a tray of left over breakfast, which was outside a room for a long period of time during the stay. The hotel is tired and In need of some redecorating. It is also very cold and whilst the staff did turn the air con off, it was still very cold to sit in. Due to a wedding there was no seperate bar, so the restaurant is the only place to eat and drink. Very underwhelmed and disappointed with the stay.

We are a very basic 1 start Guesthouse, rooms are old but clean , we provide room on very competitive price as most of our rooms are en-suit. we do not provide Breakfast.
This place should not be doing business. I was in room 4. Carpet covered in stains (literally didn't want to take my shoes off to get my socks dirty). The room stank of dirty feet. Fridge in room unplugged with open milk and a pot of yoghurt in it. 3 dirty plates under the bed. Dirty, stained bed. blood stains and other stains on duvet cover. Had someone checked out and they hadn't cleaned the room? But even if the room had been cleaned it would still have stank and the carpet would still have been covered in stains. On the plus side, I did have a clean towel and the staff were very nice, but how can nice people allow guests to come into a place like that? Didn't sleep at all. Genuinely traumatising experience. Will write to council too.

I haven't stayed at this hotel but I go there for Friday lunch regularly with colleagues. It serves a good choice of excellent quality Thai stir fries and curries. In fact some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended.
