This stunning Country Inn overlooking the village green offers quality accommodation, good food, cask ale, restaurant, bar snacks and beer garden. The Auld Cross Keys Inn was built in the 1800's as a bakehouse but later became a Coaching Inn. An ideal location for simply exploring the Scottish Borders with an abundance of activities easily accessible such as golfing, fishing, shooting, deer stalking, walking, cycling and motorbiking. Renowned locally and from afar for excellent food, accommodation and the best hospitality you could wish for! A well stocked bar offering cask ale, Guinness, over 40 malt whiskies and 20 gins which can be enjoyed in the popular public bar, cosy lounge bar (both with open fires), spacious restaurant or the large south facing beer garden.
Stayed in the village for a break and visited this pub twice. Very friendly landlord and staff with great reasonable prices on drinks and food. Our meal was great, home cooked pub food. Sirloin steak was perfect! Thank you for your hospitality on the borders.

My main statement is that I d stay here again if in the area . The removal of one star is that it s a big climb up many stairs as this used to be the bank managers house - living above the bank ( now a restaurant) Donna the host was lovely. Very helpful. Good quality and well cooked breakfast. The website does intimate bathrobes, which weren’t in my room, but I m sure one would have appeared should I have needed to ask for one ! It does have a designated car park round the back, but one does have to hunt for it !

What a great place. Easy to find and a 5-10 minute walk out of the town. We received a warm welcome from the owners. Set in lovely grounds, we had a great room with a balcony overlooking the back. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and a good breakfast the following day. The hotel is so clean and very grand. The owners are very friendly and hospitable and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. We are looking forward to a return visit.

The Mansfield House Hotel has now been awarded 4 stars from the Scottish Tourist Board. The Mansfield House Hotel is situated in approximately 10 acres of established grounds on the outskirts of Hawick, the largest of the Border towns famous for the Common Riding, rugby and knitwear. The house was originally the private home of the Oliver family built in 1870. These entrepreneurs of the new industrial age tastefully influenced the many distinctive architectural features, from the thistle and rose ceilings in the lounge and reception areas, to the Russian pine shutters, skirting and doors throughout the main house. The hotel is family run by Lynn Evans and Stephen Murray who also have the sister hotel elm house hotel in Hawick. We are dog friendly we have wood land walks around hotel were you can watch roe deer some times badgers and foxes .we cater for large bus party for meal or stop over for the night with good rates. we also cater for weddings and functions up too 200 .

We stayed for 2 nights in May at the Elm House Hotel. We could not fault the hotel at all Catherine was friendly, chatty nothing was any trouble my dad is gluten free she made sure he was catered for. The rooms were clean, well equipped, spacious, lovely comfy beds. Breakfast was lovely with some nice Scottish touches except of course no yorkshire tea !! Which we joked about !! Would def recommend if you want a trip to the Scottish Borders

We parked our motor home for a 1 night stay over in the Horse and Hound car parking area with electric hookup if required. The service, food and drink were excellent. The owners could not have been more helpful. We arrived a litter later than expected and they moved our dinner reservation until we were settled in. Meal was delicious. They very kindly let us have breakfast in the restaurant on this occasion, usually only for residents. This was also excellent. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. Showed us where we could walk along the river with our dog, and suggested some good tips for our onward route to Edinburgh. Everything was excellent - couldn’t fault it at all.

Dating from 1794, Bedrule Old Manse sits beside the Rule Water in the beautiful Rule Valley. Offering luxurious accommodation for visitors to the Scottish Borders.
We had a wonderful, relaxing week at Bedrule, I couldn’t recommend this B&B highly enough! The breakfasts were fresh, delicious and with plenty of choice, the hosts helpful with local recommendations, directions to the pub and accommodating any small requests we had.

Beautiful cottage and amazing hosts. Thankyou for your hospitality. The cottage is immaculate with numerous little extras - coffee machine, log burner, wine cooler- all very high spec. Access to the river was ideal for our water loving labrador-she was exhausted every night! Location is perfect for exploring the Borders and the suggested walks were really enjoyable. We had a great holiday. Thank you so much.

Stayed here in 2019 and it was very comfortable to explore the borders from here. We stayed in a nice, spacious room in the farmhouse with lovely views and a nice breakfast. Sheila is a lovely host. Also had a "peak" in Foxglove cottage (self catering) and was amazed by it, stunning. As I am from the city, I loved interacting with the animals, like horses Janey and Charlie and some cats. I'm sorry to see that Charlie has died last week ?
