We recently spent 6 days at the Hotel Christinehof . We absolutely loved it. The hotel is situated in the Alt Stadt and is very central to attractions and cafe's and restaurants. It is a family run hotel and the family and the staff are all very kind and extremely friendly, recommending various walks and other attractions. The only meal offered is Breakfast but as all other reviews have stated it is wonderful. Fresh organic eggs with herbs, homemade apple juice, pastries, breads, salads, cake, honey from their own bees - endless coffee. Everything is so well presented and mostly home made - memories forever of the food I used to have in my childhood. Rooms are spacious , comfortable and clean. Tea and coffee in the room but also available all day in the Reception area along with freshly baked cake. We did not need car parking but there looked to be plenty of car parking spaces. The hospitality and friendliness of the hotel is first class. I would definitely stay here again. Lovely hotel and lovely family and staff.

I stayed here for 3 nights, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The room was clean but a very strange layout with a big beam in the middle of the room, banged my head on the sloping bathroom ceiling (very strange low angle roof) the view from the room was very nice. Would I return? Yes no problem at all, much better than the Mercure Hameln.

My dad and I had the breakfast buffet here. It was fantastic: An impressive array of continental rolls, meats, cheeses, salmon and eggs, with cereals, yogurt and fruit alongside. They also had bacon and scrambled eggs so a huge choice and all extremely tasty. It was €14.50 per person and we definitely ate our money’s worth. A return trip is on the cards for sure!

This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in - and we've stayed in many! The location is right in the heart of the city close to all the restaurants, shops, and historic sites. We stayed in room 11 which was an amazing themed room. The bed resembles lying in a huge rat trap. The night tables and an armoire were shaped like cheese wedges. There were stained glass panels with scenes from the Pied Piper on it which was very smart as otherwise you'd be looking at a brick wall. The room was large and the room (ours as well as our friends room next door) offered something I've never seen before from a hotel. It had electric beds that allow you to sit up or recline with your head up. it also moved your feet up so you could sleep in a zero gravity position which was so comfortable. In fact, we loved it so much when we returned home we needed a new bed so we have ordered one in when we move to our new home. Another thing we have never seen before from a hotel is the breakfast spread in the morning. Our table had been prepared for us. The table and decor was very rustic. Every place setting had a wooden cutting board shaped like a mouse with a hole to put your boiled egg on. There was a felt mouse holding a boiled egg. Each table had its own bread basket and selection of cheese and meat. There is a selection of cereals as well as fruits, etc. at a buffet bar. This was probably the most unique hotel experience we had and we loved it. The staff was exceptional very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this cozy, charming hotel.

The Family History It seems that the Kretschmer family have service to other in their blood, for they have now been serving both the German civil, and the British military communities for three generations! The post war years were difficult for everyone, but George Kretschmer, who had worked his way up to head waiter and successfully run an establishment in Breslau and his wife Charlotte, moved to Hameln and founded on the 24th May 1952 the family business "Zum Schultheiss". The newly built building next to the Horse Chestnut lined street Ilphulweg offered the ideal opportunity! The nearby Linsingen Kaserne (Gordon Barracks) along with the fact that the town centre was less than five minutes away plus a pleasantly green "Biergarten" made a most comfortable setting for his new enterprise. Almost immediately the Britsh community took to the friendly atmosphere, which led to a boom in buisiness and a very happy phase in the life of the, as yet, infant concern, now namend Georges Bar. As time passed as it inevitably does Georges Bar was supported and then eventually run by his son Wolfgang and his wife Marlies, who with much e'lan and innovation, made great strides toward the, by now, "Restaurant Zum Schultheiss". From fairly simple homely cooking, the kitchen, under the super- vision of Marlies Kretschmer took on more and more sophisticated dishes, and with the energetic assistance of their, by now, grown son Jörg rivalled the best in Hameln. Just as his father before him Jörg, already a qualified chef, took on his Master-Chef examinations and in 1998 qualified and is now competent to pass on his own experience to young budding chefs who may now undertake their own training under his supervision. Several conversions and extensions were now to take place leading to the pleasant ambience of today's bar and restaurant, culminating in the opening of the "Hotel Kretschmer" each room, fitted out in the Bavarian style, having shower, toilet, television and telephone available. The reputation of the cuisine Zum Schultheiss has now spread far outside the boundaries of Hameln and is set fair to travel farther as the motto of the house is:.- The Customer is King
We chose this hotel as it was close to Hamelin, which it was. Just a 10 min walk. Our room was up about 4 flights of stairs ( no lift) The room was large bright and very clean. The beds were comfy . You could hear people above and next door, but through the night it was ok. The bathroom which came directly off of the bedroom was also spotless with a good shower. The only niggle was that there was a very small wardrobe that couldn't take trousers and had 2 hangers. Also not sure if this is a German thing but we didn't get maid service on the second day. The breakfast was as expected, Bread, meats, cheese scrambled egg , yogurt. Staff were smilie and seemed happy but they didn't speak English and we didn't speak German, which isn't too much of a problem but it would of been useful if they had a card with the times of breakfast and evening meal times ect. We had an enjoyable stay.

Situated in one of the nicest residential areas of Hameln, 10 minutes walk from the historical old town, is the 1910 art nouveau villa which houses the present Hotel Bellevue. The Hotel which was recently renovated is now a non-smoking Hotel. On arrival you can already sense the special atmosphere of the family run hotel in Hameln.
We stayed with our parents last month. I know the hotel as I lived in Hameln before we moved to LA. The hotel is central, the service very friendly and the property clean. Breakfast is very good. We will stay again.

We had two nights in the Hotel An der Altstadt on 16th and 17th October 2019. Two old soldiers shared a twin room and although the room was quite small it was adequate and very comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was pristine and the towels were soft. The breakfast was second to none. The staff were very polite and helpful, special thanks to Tanja, she was a star!

Landgasthaus Hesse is generally an okay place. We cannot comment on the accommodation, as this is something we have never seen or used. We have however been to the restaurant a few times over the years. The staff are friendly enough, but the feel of the place is very dowdy, typical old German style. All that is a matter of taste and doesn’t generally speak against visiting though. The food however is not something we would recommend. Today we had wedges and they were burnt to a crisp. Nobody at our table seemed to mind this, but we were flabbergasted at how this could be served as food. Only about 10% of each wedge was still light in the middle, the rest was crisp. The fried vegetables we received were by and large okay, not too soft, still had a bite to them, but absolutley no seasoning at all. Even though it was not that busy, we had waited over 1,5 hours till our food arrived. They do have a nice seating area at the back outside and a large playing area for children.

Formally it is a 4-star hotel. Although it lacks certain services that I expect from a 4-star hotel, I must acknowledge that it is very comfortable and pleasant, so my judgement is positive, and I will certainly stay here again when I will be in Hameln. The hotel is family run and has a total of 24 rooms. It is right in the centre of the town, in an affluent and quiet quarter, and the elegant 4-storey building where it is located presumably was a former residential house. It has parking place for about a dozen of cars in the courtyard. The rates are inclusive of parking and breakfast, and are clearly listed in their web site; luckily, they are not subject to the seasonal or daily fluctuations that are usual in the larger hotels. It should be appreciated that all rooms are provided with efficient air conditioning, a convenience which is not so common in this part of Germany. The hotel is definitely elegant, and much care has been taken in appropriately designing the rooms, with clever use of colours and insertion of pieces of old or antique furniture. Every room has a different personality and all of them are pleasant and cosy. Beds and bedding are definitely good; space is abundant; my room was in the attic, so I could also benefit of a large independent terrace. The bathroom is very modern and complete. The buffet breakfast is abundant, varied and with good quality food. Management is friendly. Booking procedures are easy, either by telephone or by e-mail. Enough English is spoken at the reception. There are also some downsides, caused by the fact that certain benefits and amenities that are usually got in a 4-star hotel are not available here. Service and assistance are discontinued at night, between 22:00 and 6:00: the guests can however open the external doors with their key. There are no coffee making facilities in the room; no complimentary drinking water is provided, except on the first night; there are no toilet amenities in the bathroom, except soap in a dispenser; there are only two TV channels broadcasting in non-German languages, i.e. BBC-news and CNN; the hotel lacks a business-room provided with computer, printer and Internet connection. However, the comfort of a short-term stay is only marginally impaired by these shortcomings. The hotel is located only 100 metres away from the historical centre of the town, making it easy to explore the town or to reach the commercial area. The quarter is very quiet; traffic is scarce and noise non-existent. The hotel appears very appropriate for tourism and business purposes.
