We were brought to this hotel by a friend. He said he wanted us to see the best in Austria. How right he was ! From the time we entered, this wonderful family-owned jewel never let us down. The staff was friendly and helpful to us as Americans and were very hospitable. The view is UNREAL. If you want to see the Alps, you need to go here. I sat on my porch each night with the local Zillertal (yummy) beer and watched the sun set over the mountains. I even got a fireworks show in the distance one night ! The air was so fresh and at night I was put to sleep by the bells on the cows in the distance. We hiked up the mountain and it was fantastic. Stopped at one of several hiker's rest houses and were brought in and got a beer and some snacks. Very cool ! We ate a wonderful breakfast each day of many breads, cheeses, and meats. They even had an omlette maker ! For dinner they made fantastic home made meals. Salads fresh from the garden right outside the chalet. We all loved the food and they had the best desserts ! Robert (the current owner - cook) was funny and always came around to make sure we were all happy. They all understood enough English to function perfectly with us. He even had a few jokes ! The room was VERY nice and bigger than most in Europe. We had our own modern and super clean bathroom/shower. In closing, it is quite a haul up the mountain but well worth it.

This was a lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly. There was plenty of room to relax downstairs, in the garden, the bar. Breakfast was really good too, lots to choose from. The location was brilliant also. I would recommend this hotel

We were fortunate to have been able to enjoy a week long all inclusive stay at this wonderful family owned hotel. At the time my niece and her family were living in Denmark and we drove down not knowing anything about the area. We were so impressed with it right away as we arrived a little later than we were expected but the host graciously provided us a hot meal. We really enjoyed the rooms with our own little balcony that looked out at the ski lift across the street. The rooms were immaculate. The next morning we were shown to the dining room for breakfast and from then on we were seated at the same table . (Our table). :) Food was plentiful and very good. We used the hotel as a base to travel all around the area and it was very conveniently located while remote from crowds. We enjoyed the bar in the evenings to socialize with the other guests. Unlimited wine and beer to guests...full bar available. Swimming pool, sauna and hot tub were available and very clean. Most of the guests were Europeans, mainly Danish and Germans, but the staff spoke some English and our son in law spoke both so we didn't have any communication problems. Would recommend this hotel highly and would happily stay there again. We felt like family by the time our visit was over and hated to leave.

Pension Gemshorn is situated in a picturesque village of Hainzenberg, in the heart of Tirol region. A sled track right next to the property can be enjoyed in the winter months. The property offers accommodation with an a la carte restaurant, a dining area, a wellness with 2 saunas, an outdoor hot tub, ski storage and bike storage.
Just returned from a wonderful weekend at Pension Gemshorn. A fantastic welcome from Katerina and her fabulous staff. The schnitzel was the best I've ever tasted. We had room 24 which had amazing views across the picturesque valley and the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in away from home.Well worth a visit.

Hele mooie vakantie gehad. De bewoners wonen in hetzelfde huis. Contact was goed en vriendelijk.

We stayed here for one week as its location is perfect near the Horberg station where we ski from. Tucked away just off the road by the school and outdoor pool ( the pool wasn't open this time of year). There's a wrap around balcony with mountain views all around beyond the school and neighbouring houses. We stayed in the Ahorn apartment which has a small lounge with a pull out sofa bed(single or double) and dining table and TV, hall for coats / boots ,a kitchenette with all you need for simple cooking. A very spacious light and sunny bedroom with another extra bed . A door out from there with chairs and fantastic views. Dressing area and wardrobes and a shower room. There is also another bedroom with an ensuite but we didn't have use of that as only two of us. The ski bus is only minutes away and takes you to the lift in minutes. There is also a train that takes you to Mayrhofen for € 2 each direct. There are shops and bars nearby but not too close and a bakery / deli that's really good. Ski hire too and the river runs just below with a cycle path . It was coming to the end of the season but still plenty of snow up high on the main slopes. Very warm sunny days so perfect really. We went to visit our son who's an instructor there and it was easy to get to his house in Shwendberg, there's a bus or taxi to get everywhere easily. Very comfortable and clean With welcoming hosts. We will go and stay again without hesitation.
