If you are in need of a weekend getaway from Seoul, secure and SRT or KTX ticket from Seoul to Gwangju and stay at Holiday Inn Gwangju. As always, the cab pulled the the front door, an attendant emerged to welcome and assist with baggage. The Check In process was quick and personable, just as I like it. As this trip was with the family, I decided on the Junior Suite. The crib was preplaced in the room complete with Pororo Bedding which just lit both of my toddlers with gigantic smiles. What I like most about the Junior Suite with toddlers: extra space is a plus, the larger bathroom with a bathtub with a view made bath time more fun and enjoyable. Recommends: Breakfast - good selection, authentic tastes. Book the breakfast package. Swimming Pool - simply a great spot to enjoy with the family and little ones.

After much research for hotels in Gwangju I decided on this gem. I had made an excellent choice! It certainly meet my expectations and more. The staff certainly was exceptional... the front desk with Mina and Jo Min was everything anyone could ask for... always smiling, helpful, and ensuring all our needs were met. The room was comfortable and clean. The morning breakfast was very good. With the bus stop just a few steps , transportation was very easy. Would definitely recommend !

An old style accommodation. Difficult to find this place. Bad room condition. They even give poor service. You can find better options around here, if you can pay more 3~4 dollar. Please don't spoil your trip. This accommodation is not normal in Korea.

Very Basic business traveler hotel but to avoid if looking for anything special, modern or particularly comfortable. Desperately needs renovation in rooms. First room I was given was dark, dirty, with old furniture, not very clean, and with many dark ugly spots on the carpet. I didn’t want to sleep there. When I asked for something different, they gave me a larger room with two beds which was cleaner and somewhat newer but still nothing special or luxurious in any way. Lobby area is nice and cafe attached is comfortable but expensive.

Hotel was clean. Due to maximum occupancy, we had to stay in two different rooms. A double room and the culture suite room. Both beds were queen size. The quilt was lovely. Not too hot, felt a little weighted. Gave us two different types of pillows, firm and soft. Had a delightful sleep on both nights. The suite had a LG styler. Was super to use (now i wanna buy one) Read a comment that the food was bad. On the contrary, food was good. Had the typical bread, cereal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages(yum), juice, fruits and coffee machine. Salads was fresh. Some sort of mash everyday. Korean food was fabulous. Different menu every day. The kimchi did not taste packaged. Freshly made side dishes. Bulgogi too. The soup was yummy, not msg-y. They provided amenities like toothbrush and shaver which is lovely unlike some well-known hotel brand who are "trying to be green". Walking distance to the hot cafe area nearby and many places. Would definately like to stay here again.

very affordable and spacious with huge beds!! perfect for big families with children that want a space to play! not only for children, with the inconvenience of raggedy clothes fro being in your suitcase for too long, the room is also equiped with a clothes styler that dry cleans and irons your clothes before heading out for your business meeting! located: >>> near many pubs and karaoke rooms (great for fun nightlife!!) >>> only 10 min for Oncheon Station

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights over a weekend. We got a Deluxe Double room and absolutely loved it! It's very spacious, had all the commodities and was quiet. This was very much appreciated as the neighbourhood gets really lively during the weekends as there are a huge number of bars and restaurants around the hotel. There were only two downsides for us. Our room was on the "courtyard side", which meant it faced the neighbouring hotel which was literally 1,5 m away so there was absolutely no view (but at the same time it was quieter than on the other side of the hotel and we didn't spend that much time there anyway). And the bed, even though very spacious, was a bit too hard for our taste but it seems to be a general tendency in Korea. Oh, we also enjoyed the morning buffet, which offers a mix of continental and Korean foods. The hotel is well situated and easily accessible bu bus and metro. The staff speaks decent English unlike many other people in this city.
