Comfortable place to stay in Guptkashi with simple, Neat and Clean place. Pure Vegiterian food. Personal service to the guests. Helicopter ride to Kedarnath shrine is just 100 meters away. View from all 17 Huts and 13 Rooms is breathtaking. 24X7 hot runing water ,WiFi, Satellite TV(Tata Sky), Room Heaters and Room Coolers in all rooms. A basic massage center available. Laundry service available.

The property is situated in excellent location overseeing the Kedar ranges, a site to wakeup to. Shivam and his team provided excellent support, entire crew is nice and helpful. I would recommend anyone with family or alone to stay here.

Reviewed By BrijB30We had booked 2 Super Deluxe Rooms for our 2 nights stay for kedarnath Yatra. Rooms were decent with good view of chaukhamba mountain range from the balcony of the room. Room had a temperature controlled AC / Heater which could be set according to your need. Also there was water heater for hot water for bath. The service of the hotel was really very slow as there were only 3 person staff available during our stay. One guy was at the reception & other 2 were in the restaurant. There was no other staff at the hotel for the customer service. It made us feel like we were staying here in this hotel through some government quota for free of cost. The worst thing about this hotel was it's food & the restaurant. Restaurant hall was so small that there were only 4 tables places inside that small hall. So we had to wait for an hour just to get a table inside the restaurant as there were no hotels or restaurant available around the hotel. The food was pathetic. The service was more pathetic. We had pre ordered our dinner & they had asked us to reach the hotel restaurant at 9.00pm for the dinner. We reached at sharp 9.00pm but they made us wait for almost 1 hour. At last after having some argument with the kitchen staff they finally gave us our food around 10.15 pm. After waiting for almost an hour we were so hungry that we couldn't wait any more & started to eat our meal. We had ordered 2 Sabji's. One was Shahi paneer & the other one was kadhai paneer. The Shahi paneer Sabji was the worst Sabji of my life. The Gravy of the Sabji was so thin that it made us feel that we were having Sabji mixed with water. Paneer was also not fresh it was pretty hard to chew like rubber. We were feeling that were eating Sabji made of water & rubber. If you are planning to stay in the GMVN Chaukhamba Tourist Complex then please book super deluxe rooms as these were the only best category rooms available. Rest category rooms were pretty okay with old bathroom & old furniture. Super Deluxe Rooms were built up few years back & are still in a good condition. But don't rely on them for food. Food quality is not good & the taste is also not good. Also it's not cheap. Price for the bread butter was ₹100. You can imagine the price of rest of the items. You can definitely stay in this hotel during your kedarnath Yatra but don't be dependent on them for food. Also there will be no one to help you in emergency situation after 10.00pm. As the hotel staff just leave after 10.00pm to sleep & they lock all the rooms, kitchen area, reception area & they just get vanish after that. Our helicopter ride got canceled due to bad weather so we had to get down walking all the way from the kedarnath ji shrine. It took us around 6 hours to complete 21 kms track to reach down near gaurikund. After that we had to take local max car to reach Sonprayag where our driver was waiting for us. We reached back to GMVN Guptkashi Tourist Complex where we're staying at 11.45 pm. The hotel main gate was closed. There was no one to open the main gate. We had to get down from our car & open the gate do we could enter the hotel. After getting down from our car we were surprised to see that there was ko staff at that time. Our keys were left at the reception for cleaning of the room. We tried to search the hotel staff all over the hotel. There was no one to help us. Luckily after an hour we saw a person sleeping inside the cabin of Helicopter booking office. We woke him up & asked him to help us. He gave the number of the hotel manager & asked us to call him. We called him & explained him everything. He told not to worry I'll send someone to help you. After waiting for 10 to 15 minutes a person came to help us with our room keys. He was the same person who was at the hotel reception during the day time. That reception guy was the only person who was helpful to us. But my question is what if we wouldn't have found thy guy sleeping inside the helicopter booking office. How would have we found the hotel staff? How would have we contacted that manager? How would have we got our rooms keys? It would be a terrible nightmare if we wouldn't have spotted that guy sleeping inside the helicopter booking office. So this was our experience during our stay at GMVN Guptkashi Chaukhamba Tourist Complex.

Reviewed By SidGhosh07Great experience at Village Retreat. We stayed in this property during our Chardham Yatra in 2022 after our Kedarnathji's Darshan. We were allowed to check-in 5 hours prior to our schedule and were welcomed warmly by Mr.Krishna. This beautiful property is located in the mountains of GuptKashi giving a clear view of the Chaukhamba range,5 km away from the busy market of GuptKashi town and 2 km from Guptakashi's Helipad (operated by Aryan Aviation). We loved going to walk taking the hilly path to the nearby village and listening to all the different birds along the way. The garden and lawns are well maintained with beautiful roses and other trees, Great Sculptures of Adiyogi Shiva and Buddha along with Rani Karnavati(Nak-Kati-Rani) and Bhandariji. The view from the dining area is awesome and the food in the buffet was delicious too. Overall very satisfied with our stay. The room was clean and equipped with everything you might need. Mr.Krishna(Manager & Receptionist), Mr. Virendra Singh Negi ('The Chef'), and the other staff were very accommodating and easy to reach. Highly recommend a place on your trip to Kedarnathji and also for leisure and we would definitely visit again!

The climate is vatile in the monsoons, yet, the clouds cleared to give us the clear view of the mighty Himalayan Peaks, including the revered Kedarnath Ji. Only properly in Guptakashi having ample indoor parking space. Very helpful and responsive staff, have big driver room with complementary food. It’s a small heaven blessed by baba Kedarnath, you can not imagine a better place than this on your trip to Kedarnath.
