Situated in the country Parish of St. Martin in a quiet green valley close to one of Guernsey's most beautiful bays, La Barbarie Hotel offers easy access to the stunning cliff walks, Saints Bay, Icart Point and the secluded coves of the south coast of Guernsey. A comfortable Guernsey hotel set in a rural location, combined with a popular award winning restaurant make La Barbarie Hotel one of the best Guernsey hotels for relaxing short breaks, activity breaks and walking holidays. "The jewel in La Barbarie's crown is really the restaurant, which produces outstandingly good food with complete reliability. Rick Stein stayed there while making one of his television cookery programmes, and pronounced the lobster the best he had ever tasted - praise indeed from one of the country's most celebrated seafood chefs." Source: Insight Hotel Guide. La Barbarie achieved a Vist Guernsey 4 Star Gold award in March 2019 and the AA 4 Star and Rosette Award in June 2019
For many years now, La Barbarie has been the only place I will stay on Guernsey. I love the island, having lived there as a child and returning most years -- often with various friends and family in tow. Everyone I have taken there has been surprised at the beauty and tranquility it is still possible to find in its little leafy lanes, cliff paths, and inviting beaches. There are many reasons to choose La Barbarie. First you will receive a genuinely friendly and warm welcome. You are made to feel at home. You will find the service efficient and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and very clean. The restaurant is excellent and much loved by locals, and the generous breakfasts are an excellent foundation for your day of exploration, such as walking on the nearby cliffs. The hotel's location is exceptional. The beautiful Icart point, just ten minutes walk away down narrow country lanes, gives you a stunning panorama of of the cliffs and sea, and it is a starting point for stunning cliff path walks along the southern coast. The local beaches: Saints Bay, Moulin Huet or Petit Bôt offer great swimming in beautiful clear water, snorkelling and sunbathing. There is a very handy bus stop on the little lane immediately outside, which will take you to into St Peter Port or off for further explorations if you opted not to bring a car. La Barbarie is not for you if you want a raucous time with banging music. But if you want an escape that feeds your soul, offers great food, creature comforts and a gorgeous location, then this is for you.

The only five-star hotel on Guernsey, our historic property with panoramic sea views sits proudly on the hill in the heart of St Peter Port, just minutes from the quayside. Exceeding expectations with exceptional food, traditional hospitality and beautifully designed rooms, we welcome you as a friend returning home.
Excellent food and exemplary service, Byron is a star, Old Government House has a lovely atmosphere and ambience. Nothing more to add, but for some reason TripAdvisor wants a huge long essay so this is me wasting space

Nice setting and comfortable bedrooms, friendly helpful staff. Good food in the restaurants but make sure to book especially on Monday nights when outside restaurants are closed. The swimming pool is screen for privacy and makes a nice place to sit out even if not using the pool.

What a delightful stay my husband and I had on our first visit to this beautiful island. The hotel was just what we wanted - lovely spacious room, bathroom very new with non slip shower and floor which is important to me. The bar and restaurant were excellent - we had dinner the first evening and just a bar snack the second. Breakfast was simply beautiful - one of the best we have ever come across. Staff very friendly -nothing too much trouble. Just perfection. We would definitely not want to stay anywhere else. Thank you

Fermain Valley Hotel is nestled in a secluded tree topped location on the south coast of the island, just 5 minutes away from the capital St Peter Port. It prides itself as an eatery with 3 dining options located on the property, to appease all food tastes. The Ocean Restaurant, is the hotels seasonal restaurant and provides an array of fresh fish and provincial food delicacies in summer season. Alternatively there is one of the islands premier steakhouses onsite, The Rock Garden Steak House with sophisticated Cocktail bar and outdoor snug. Finally if you prefer latino influenced cuisine we have an onsite modern Mexican called Búho, located in the Venue, it challenges the convention. The hotel offers extensive public areas from cozy fire side lounges to a private cinema for guests use, with also use of an indoor-heated swimming pool and sauna. Complimentary high speed wireless is accessible throughout the hotel. The Fermain Hotel is renowned for its warm and friendly welcome.
I spent 4 nights here, the room was comfortable, the shower was incredible very powerful. Staff very good and helpful. Breakfast excellent, the Ocean restaurant was closed due to lack of staff. There are options a steakhouse and a Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel are both excellent I ate at both and enjoyed all the meals I had. It can get noisy there was a barbecue one day the noise was very loud with rooms overlooking the patio no getting away from the drum and bass. The beach is a steep walk down a hill and seems even steeper walking back up. St Peter Port is a 40 min walk away worth a visit

Les Rocquettes is a former manor house dating back to 1765, first transformed into a hotel after the German Occupation in the 1940's. over the past 20 years the hotel has been extended and upgraded to offer 50 hotel rooms, 2 apartments, health suite with indoor pool, steam room, sauna and well equipped gym as well as a restaurant and two bars. Located approximately one mile from the centre of St Peter Port, les Rocquettes has car parking and the local buses stop frequently outside. les Rocquettes also offers tranquil, attractive gardens in which to relax as well as lounge areas.
Food good, staff very friendly. Unfortunately management care more about walk-in customers in the public Oak Bar than the residents. The hotel bar is closed due to staffing shortage. We went into the Oak at 6 o’clock to have a drink before our evening meal. However, all the tables were reserved and numerous staff were standing around waiting for the presumed rush. Surely one person could run the hotel bar? We walked to a nearby pub, The Doghouse, where the staff were very friendly and welcoming and we had a great meal. After our meal, we walked back to the hotel to find lots of tables still reserved and still no room for residents. Residents were sitting in the hotel bar and having to walk through the dining area to the Oak to buy a drink.

Beachside hotel, stunning location, perfect for weddings.
Travelled with a group of people and we stayed in the Peninsula Hotel for 5 nights on a half-board basis. Our room was at the back but that didn't detract and we didn't spend much time in it. The breakfast was good, a mixture of continental and full English. The only complaint from most of us was the plates were cold. The evening meals were very good with a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian. Desserts also had a choice of 3. The swimming pool was great the water warm. A supply of towels at poolside would have helped. The surroundings are lovely with loads of coastal walk. all-in-all a very pleasant stay.

Very clean and rooms very quiet. It is very new so you would expect it to be. The only downside was that you had to order your breakfast and you were given a time slot, we didnt want to do this.we were only given 2 tea bags in the room, but could go get more if required.

A family-run luxurious small hotel set in an historic Norman manor house on Guernsey’s stunning south coast only minutes from the airport and the capital St Peter Port, the Bella Luce is the perfect bolthole for a long stay or a few days away. Delivering “a little bit of luxury, but with your shoes kicked off”, this unique hotel boasts an award-winning restaurant, an ESPA spa, and its own small-batch gin distillery (the home of Wheadon’s Gin), making it the perfect destination for those travellers for whom experience is everything.
I have stayed in this hotel several times before and it has always been excellent. As all hotels they have had to adapt to the challenges of Brexit and Covid and on the whole seem to be managing well. Sadly not quite enough staff and some minor updating could have been done during lock down ready for re opening. If the pool was cleaned and covered at the end of the summer that would make a great different to overall appearance as it looks very scruffy now. Well done all the staff who were working, we had a most enjoyable stay. On a point of Covid recommendations, a secured to the floor hand sanitising suit at the entrance would be good and another going into the dining area. A few half full mucky bottles lying around did not give confidence. The secured ones are very attractive long stainless steel poles with a container on the top and are foot operated. Totally safe.
