Basic clean hotel right in front of Fukushima train station. Nothing fancy. Beds on the hard / lower end side so if you're a picky sleeper you might not sleep well. Hotel restaurant (where the included breakfast is served) is actually a national chain of cheap izakayas known for being very cheap but not very good, so I'd skip the breakfast.

Located a 3 minute walk from JR Aizu-Wakamatsu Station, Aizuwakamatsu Washington Hotel is the perfect base for sightseeing and business. The city of Aizuwakamatsu depicts traditional colorful beauty and has a long and rich history. It is the perfect blend of Japanese old world charm and tradition and the sophistication of modern culture. Aizuwakamatsu has flourished for more than 600 years with the grand Tsuruga Castle at its heart. Merchant houses and warehouses (above all, white-walled sake breweries) line the streets of the old Lord Matsudaira’s castle town where you can really get a sense of the city’s long history. Sanjusangendo, our Japanese restaurant, offers hot-pots prepared to reflect the seasonal flavors of Aizu as well as locally-brewed sake. Sit comfortably with your friends and enjoy the taste of Aizu Wakamatsu.
We stayed for 2 nights with breakfast. Booked and paid via hotels.com. The hotel is not new but clean and good to stay and it didn't cost much compared with other hotels in this area. The breakfast was a buffet and had many choices. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Sorry for my late review. They might renovate the restaurant so my photo might be outdated.

better than average because I think the value for money is very good (maybe cheaper to book direct rather than booking site), and the location was excellent. Room was ok. Lots of scuff marks and cracked toilet and basin. But bed was very comfortable. I had a good sleep and that was important. The restaurant had last order at 8:30 - this is a regional location - and the staff (front desk and restaurant) were Japanese (surprise - this is Japan) so don't expect much English. I actually kind of liked my stay. If I was passing through again I would stay here again. Would I recommend it - yes, for family/friends on a budget I thought it was pretty good.

A Nice and clearn tidy hotel. Very Convinient location, a lot of restaurant near by. But front desk staff was not very helpful. Good breakfast, but a small space, so it was so crowded around 7:30. Hard to find the seat.

Stayed here for two nights while traveling on business. Rooms are small by American standards but good sized for Japan. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and room had a small fridge for drinks and snacks. Breakfast was included and there was a pretty good variety (buffet style) with plenty to suit your tastes. Only issue was AC did not stay on overnight - which turned out to be my fault. There is a switch when you enter the room which must be on in order to keep AC running (sort of a master power switch for room) so if you use this switch to turn off lights there will be no AC. Use switches by the bed for the lights and you will not repeat my experience.

In Japanese, "Urabandai" translates as "the back of Bandai". Mt Bandai sits as one of the main mountains in Fukushima Prefecture, and thus the name "Active Resorts Urabandai" is born. As you can imagine, this comes with its own perks! Mt Bandai is renowned for its ski slopes and sees many snow sport fans pass through during the winter. This is highly recommended for skiers who want to try out Japan's famous powder snow. However, Urabandai's real highlight lies in the changing seasonal scenery. Goshikinuma has many hiking trails which look over the local lakes, known for their various hues of blue that change with the seasons. If hiking is a bit too much, this can all be enjoyed from inside the hotel, either from the rooms or from the Goshiki open air hot spring.
Large hotel that needs an update. Huge rooms with lounge areas. Only twin rooms available which is interesting for a couple but usable. Fabulous onsen downstairs with amazing outdoor hot spring. Every shampoo etc you could want available. Breakfast is Japanese buffet which is ok. Dinner in main dining room is excellent albeit very expensive buffet. The smaller ala carte grill is also quite good and Mori Mori restaraunt outside is also pretty good. Free bus daily to Grandeco ski resort and other resorts if you pay (or have the bus tix included).

The hotel is located at the Fukushima station so it is very easy for travellers. The staff do not speak very much English, but everything went well. The room is little bigger than average business hotel in Japan and there was also a humidifier. You can notice some wear but it was OK. I noticed some tobacco smell in the room. You can have a nice view to mountains and there was a breakfast included in the price. You can select Japanese or western style. The western breakfast had a sausage so I selected the Japanese and it was fine.
