Reviewed By royc942On there website it says parking and aircon. I book a double room and get a twin, I’ve not slept in a single bed since I was a kid. We arrive to find there is no parking available but told there was and there is no aircon. I ask for it to be turned on and get fobbed off with we can do it from a bloke called Mohammed but yet every other prem in I’ve stayed at can. Can’t have the window open a it backs onto the Essen main station railway

Very good perfomance
Reviewed By Mirjam1970We had the Easter Sunday brunch/breakfast ("perfect day)" here with our family. We were 10 persons. My husband and I also stayed at the hotel für 2 nights. I'd like to point out the outstanding performance of the staff. Although it was really busy during the easter breakfast they kept smiling and moved quickly and effectively! Really GOOD JOB! The breakfast buffet was huge, tasty and they looked after it (filling up, cleaning etc). The room was nice with good mattress and lovely shower (walk in with modern design). Also coffee/tea making facilities at the room - great! The next morning we also had a nice chat with the waiter who seemed to love his job there - everyone was so hospitable. Would recommend the perfect day-breakfast and the stay. PS If you like parks and walks - the beautiful Gruga park is only steps away!

Ok product, operations needs much improvement
Reviewed By morvmorvBreakfast far from reality of posted pictures. And for 12.50 EUR it’s absolutely a rip off. All you get below in pictures. Rooms are nice and modern, the size didn’t bother me, but at 11 night, AC hasn’t worked a single day and unable to fix or even admit it’s not working. Even after room move. Few room cleaning days were missed and soaps in shower and sink have been empty for about 4 days and had to complain about it to get new soap. The hotel product is good, operations needs improvements! Even for a city hipster hotel. I do love that they have a filtered water station; rare in Europe.

Fairly quiet for city centre hotel
Reviewed By Michael BRooms upgraded as a Diamond select card holder. Rooms were a good size. Lighting levels could be reduced to save energy. Staff were all helpful, everything worked in the room. Provide instructions for coffee machine. Parking available in nearby cark park with 10% discount, but only takes German card s for payment. Good selection of dishes for breakfast including fresh fruit.

Reviewed By Erwin TLocated opposite the main station and next to the entrance of the city center. Easy car parking in various park houses nearby. Rooms clean as you expect, Sky Sport on tv. Beds not that comfortable, small minor. Breakfast excellent.

Reviewed By b037If you have to go to Essen (and I'd not rush) then this hotel is a very good value choice. The rooms are Ibis-like as it is an Ibis and perfectly serviceable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is very near the station which is useful. The trains passing by are not annoying. I'd say this good location is tempered by the homeless people in between the hotel and the station. I do not mean that their presence is wrong, but some are a bit rude/aggressive, shouting if you do not acquiesce to their requests. That should not put someone off but it is better to be forewarned.
