Loved everything about this hotel, including the staff. Some of the reviews are made almost convinced us to book elsewhere and we were glad we didn’t. Cute, well-maintained place. Helpful staff. Big rooms. Gorgeous grounds. Only complaints is that we felt spa access shouldn’t cost extra for guests. Highly recommend! Dinner: LOVED the 5 course tasting menu! The lamb was the best we’ve had in Iceland so far. Really enjoyed the duck and the lobster and the salmon courses. And the “dessert feast” was a decadent treat! Breakfast: similar offerings to most hotels, but the eggs were cooked better here than anywhere else so far and the blueberry muffins were great. The coffee was a step up from some other places as well.

This is our second stay here. From the moment we checked in with Kevin (from Spain, curly blond hair, cute), great drinks at the bar and helpful staff it was just great! Kevin helped us with reservation to the nearby restaurant, looking up weather and even researching whale watching tours for me. Everything was just perfect

Perfection! Externally the property may appear quite ordinary however its anything but. Internally this is a lovely quaint guesthouse with beautiful antique furniture and great effort taken to maintain authenticity. I stayed in an upstairs twin room which was perfect, the bed was very comfortable. The fabulous Icelandic bathhouse with showers, sauna, outside hot pool is an absolute highlight. Loved it. There was one member of staff (off-season, just four guests), super helpful and friendly. Property is reached on a gravel road however condition is good and fine with my standard saloon rental. This quite peaceful and authentic stay is highly recommended, it's like staying in a musuem.

The guesthouse is beautiful and clean. They offer free wifi but even though its written on googlemaps, they do in fact not have an airport shuttle (however there are a few public transportations). Be careful when consider using said public transportations, they do not always stop where they should.

We were fortunate enough to experience the worst snow storm in June in over 40 years while in Iceland. The snow created a beautiful scene but this Texas born and raised travelers was not about to be the guy stuck out in it. We opted to spend the night at this wonderfull spot. The private room was warm, quiet and clean. The entire place looked brand knew and was well maintained. The owner and host were exceptionally nice and helpful. Unfortunately we couldn't explore the property due to the snow. I have this place earmarked for a return trip. 5 waterfalls a short hike away, a hot pot, great accomadations and great hosts. It's a win in every way.

Hotel Hallormsstadur is located in the largest forest in Iceland, Hallormsstad forest. With a enjoyable setting & views over Lagarfljot lake. The restaurant, open during summer season, will provide your tastebuds an adventure while your eyes feast on a magnificent view. All rooms are equipped with private bathrooms with a shower. Wifi available in public areas of the hotel.
We stayed here only for a night. But really appreciated the service we got while there. My husband was a bit unwell when we got there, and so we had made some special requests at the restaurant and at the reception. The staff was extremely sympathetic and helpful throughout. Also, the room was comfortable. The breakfast spread was good. The hotel also has an elevator which we found both funny and fun - it requires you to hold down the button with the floor number for the whole journey! The building only has three floors and so it wasn't a hassle, but a novelty.

Hostel and Horsefarm Húsey is located on the Eastern part of Iceland in Fljótsdalshérað, a place with extreme natural beauty and you will find that you are in close contact with nature. The hostel is a former old farmhouse in which you can enjoy almost complete peace and quiet and enjoy the spectacular view. Try a fresh walk along the footpaths or a guided horseriding tour to experience the birdlife and landscape with its changing moods and seals in the great rivers which is their natural habitat.
Wonderful 2h horse riding experience. We were a family of 4 with nearly no horse riding experience and we had a blast. Utterly helpful and kind guides (Claire and Eilsabet) and extremely well-trained horses, that are clearly well taken care of. They base the temper of the horses on the experience of the riders, so ours were very calm and responsive. The environment of Husey is perfect for horse riding, no roads, no traffic, only nature and a lot of birds.

The cottage was excellent. It had everything that we needed for an overnight stay. Check in instructions were clear and communicated well ahead of our arrival. This came in handy as we reached the cottage quite late.

Tehusið Hostel (Teahouse Hostel) is located 0.5 km from Ring Road 1, in the center of Egilsstaðir. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen and guests can relax in the guest rooms. The hostel focuses on the environment and fair trade. All garbage is recycled. Our values are joy, sustainability and honesty. The hostel offers simple, tidy, rooms with good beds. Linens and towels are provided.
This hostel was comfortable and had all the basic amenities. As a bonus they had sheets covering the bunks for a little extra privacy, which not all hostels in Iceland had. There was also a cafe attached, which I didn't try as I left very early in the morning, but that was also a nice touch. It's also a convenient jumping off point for Seydisfjordur, where the popular rainbow road leading up to a church can be found.
