The rooms, although quite large, miss some essential comfort items you would expect in a 3* hotel, such as a coffee/tea maker, real glasses in the bathroom and a fridge. Housekeeping is very good, the room is kept very clean. Nice breakfast, but beware: it can get very busy during the weekend. Friendly staff at reception, who also double as bartenders.

Staff at this hotel are super professional, friendly and service-minded. I would not hesitate to grab a room here if they have one available. The location is great on a hill overlooking the town and the ocean. The hotel also has several spots for charging electric cars, both Tesla destination charger and regular charger.

We had booked a weekend stay including breakfast and dinner, but forgot to inquire about providing a vegan alternative for one in our group. Our mistake - so we asked upon checking in whether a vegan alternative could be provided. Instead of being helpful (or telling us about the vegan restaurant which was less than 5 minutes away on foot), the receptionist was incredibly condescending, telling us that it was our fault and asking whether vegans 'at least eat fish'. We said that we'd take care of our dining ourselves and that was that. Or so we thought. We chose to seek restaurants for eating together instead, but wanted to have breakfast together at the hotel. Upon trying to have breakfast, said Vegan was immediately sent back to the room for allegedly dressing inappropriately (long pants and tanktop), and only allowed back wearing a T-Shirt by that same receptionist. Said woman then asked, when checking out, whether it all was to our liking and was told that no, we'd never received such a rude welcome. This prompted her to shout, at deafening volume (the other guests at breakfast could surely attest to this) that it's not 1945 anymore and that she won't let some Germans boss her around. Room was alright and clean, the location is nice, but all that isn't worth dealing with an individual which clearly doesn't belong in the service industry.

Fresh and exclusive hotel on the seafront with modern rooms. Hotel Villa Select can guarantee you perfect 4 star service! The ideal spot to enjoy the large beaches, extensive nature reserve or the coastal region, be it by car, on foot or on bike. Hotel guests have free use of the swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath. After all the discovering or relaxing you can enjoy the evening in our cosy restaurant with a view on the beachfront. The market menu is made from the fresh daily regional produce.
We booked a twin on the hotel’s website but our room was in fact a family room with two additional beds in a separate room. We had a look at the nicer beach and sea view from its window but, for the rest, we had no use for it. The main room was still a good size though. The furnishing was not our style, but there was nothing wrong with it. The bedding was comfy but, like so often in hotels, the bedside lights were totally unsuitable for reading or working. We had a safe and a small fridge with water, but no minibar. We didn’t need one anyway. We suppose our bathroom was larger than in a regular twin. It had a bath tub and a shower; the toilet was in a separate room. We loved the Sundari complimentary toiletries (without synthetic fragrances or dyes). The spacious breakfast room offered a splendid beach and sea view. The buffet was ok, but nothing special although we enjoyed the possibility to make fresh orange juice. Like the reception staff, staff in the breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. As we only had two days in De Panne we didn’t spend any time in the hotel spa or swimming pool in the basement. Our room provided direct access by lift so we could have gone down in the provided bathrobes if we wanted to. As architecture lovers we appreciated the fact that Hotel Villa Select is located in a listed building in Flemish Renaissance Revival style. Maybe the oversized and ugly extension towards the beach predates the listing but the plans to add an apartment on top of the hotel clearly don’t. But that’s the Belgian coast for you.

Nice place for a simple stay in De Panne, on the market square of De Panne, 650 metres from the sea. Friendly owners, breakfast was basic but tasty. Nice to wake up on Saturday morning while the market vendors set up their stalls. The small rooms have everything you need, and the lift is a museum piece.

Nice hotel in a beautifully renovated historic house. Modern interior with a link to he past. Very good location and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious; varied breakfast buffet The hotel has no car park; you can park the car in one of the surrounding streets. Coast tram stop is nearby the hotel. Very good value for a 3 star hotel! Everything was great. Maybe one minor detail : the shower base is very slippery. A non-slip coating or handles on the wall would be very convenient

A pleasant attractive hotel in the centre. The ground floor public rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with a welcoming reception. Everyone very helpful and spoke English. Delighted with the bedroom and the bathroom - a joy to find a bathroom with space to put out your toiletries. A very clean hotel, immaculate. Fantastic breakfast, what a choice, all food beautifully arranged. Great speedy service too. It was warm enough to enjoy breakfast on the lovely terrace. Good location, and the hotel has its own car park.

The hotel and parking are easy to find and use with a simple check in process. Room: all rooms are really nice. We had a theatre room which was big enough for a family of 4 and although looked out onto the main road it was quiet enough. Be careful walking around the bed; i cut my leg twice (wife once as well) scraping it on the bed base as squared off and larger than the mattress. Also the fridge heated the drinks but i did report that for reception to fix when checking out. Food: adequate as a buffet, but nothing special. For the price you would expect it to include drinks (at least one) but it doesnt. Characters walking around is good for kids experience.

I have been visiting hotels in Belgium and abroad for years now, but this is the first time I have experienced this. The manager felt compelled to shout at us twice. The first time was about the sanitary legislation that currently applies in Belgium. Even though we are in order with everything, he found it useful to shout his opinion. The second time was during the settlement. When I told him that I had paid in advance, he accused me of being a liar. At the moment I could not prove my payment but I have sent him the proof. Hopefully he has some self-respect to refund me the money.

We spent a weekend here with my husband. It's a very pleasant place. The room and the bathroom were spacious and nicely decorated, the owner is super friendly and the breakfast is delicious. It's a short walk to the beach through a shopping street and it's close to restaurants.
