We stayed in a King suite because our great daughter was with us. Our room was large and clean, and our great granddaughter was thrilled with her queen size couch bed. She loved the pool as did we. But the best thing was the breakfast staff! I was looking for bacon and couldn’t find any. Staff told me they didn’t have bacon today (Tuesday). No big deal because the breakfast was fine like it was. (Sausage, omelets, scrambled eggs, etc etc.) Halfway thru breakfast, staff came to our table and told me they had cooked some bacon. We were so pleased with breakfast before the bacon, and now,… well, staff went above and beyond!! Thank you! ❤️

We wanted a hotel that was near Custer State Park and near great dining. This hotel fit the bill perfectly! The hotel is well maintained and clean. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished. Our beds were comfy and we both had great sleep while here. The breakfast offering wasn't huge, but had good selections of hot and cold food. When we come back to Custer we will be staying here again.

3 night Quoted: $153.99 Charged: $373.89 I asked twice when I was told the original quote, and was “assured” this was the total amount. I was told at checkout that I couldn’t get a receipt because it was direct billed to CLC. THEN, CHARGED WAY MORE THAN QUOTED! I would and could have stayed at Holiday Inn Express next door for the amount I was charged at motel 8. I simply don’t like being told one thing and delivered another!

Bruce and Nancy were the best hosts. The rooms were wonderful. Very clean and pleasantly decorated. Smelled fresh and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely recommend to others, and would stay there again! There was no breakfast, but that's ok. Close to downtown area, but pretty quiet.

Just a one night stay here whilst travelling but our room here has everything we needed. Great to have a kitchenette with a sink, fridge and microwave. Bed was huge, we could both "starfish" and not touch. The comforter was a bit "out doorsy" for my taste but did the job. Continental breakfast was great, good bread/muffin/donut selection, along with cereal and oatmeal etc. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

We booked on Hotels.com, and knew what we were getting ourselves into. This is not luxury by any stretch, but a good place to stay and very close to all the action. They were priced better for a 3 night stay than most other places...and very close to Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, and Custer State Park. This place is dated, but everything worked, and it was fairly comfortable. The bad...could smell smoke in the hallways going to get ice; not the cleanest place in the world {but not terrible}; & the parking!! The lot they have is VERY small, not made to fit all the cars for the hotel's capacity. There is parking across the street by the courthouse and park...and if you have a larger vehicle...that's where you should park. There's also street parking behind the hotel on Washington street...1/2 block from the hotel. Would probably stay here again, but there's other options out there. Pro-Tip...the gas station across the street from the hotel is convenient but just a little bit to the South West are more gas stations with better pricing [odd cash price vs. credit price at some of those "Downtown" gas stations (Exxon station did not do that)].

Days Inn Custer hotel is located off Highway 16 in the beautiful Black Hills region of South Dakota. Our Custer, SD, hotel near Mt. Rushmore offers easy access to many breathtaking natural formations and attractions in the area. Start your morning on the bright side with free Daybreak continental breakfast.
The room was not very clean the TV did not work. Would not give us another room. My husband would not use the shower because it was so dirty. Took two hours before TV was fixed. Made me pay cash for the pet deposit. I was not allowed any discounts like AAA. The breakfast was a joke. Bit size brownies and cinnamon rolls, white bread for toast and instant oatmeal. The coffee was empty and no juice. Go down the street to Super 8. Less expensive and excellent facility.
