Coventry is symbolized by the ruins of its cathedral, which was heavily bombed—along with the rest of the city—during World War II. While the Midlands metropolis is a convenient gateway to Stratford-upon-Avon, those who hang around discover a town in the midst of a financial and cultural resurgence.

The iconic Telegraph building was home to the city’s newspaper for more than 50 years. The scene is more laid-back since its conversion into a chic new hotel putting Coventry in the news with headline-grabbing features that bring style and comfort to the city.
A great alternative to the usual identikit hotels. Cool period building retaining many signs of its original purpose. I stayed here alone (work trip) but anyway I loved it! Good food, friendly staff, comfy room. If you do nothing else while here you MUST take a walk to the Catherdral(s). An awesome sight. I recommend!

With the NEC and and Ricoh Arena right on its doorstep, our Premier Inn Coventry City Centre (Belgrade Plaza) hotel is an ideal base for short breaks in the West Midlands. Culture-lovers should visit Coventry's new Cathedral, as well as the ruins of the city's old Cathedral which was destroyed in the Blitz. The St Mary's Guildhall is another must-see thanks to its incredible medieval architecture and art. If you fancy a break from the city's history, why not enjoy a relaxing walk around the scenic Allesley Park? Back at the hotel you can look forward to a tasty meal in our Thyme restaurant, before relaxing on a super-comfy Hypnos bed and watching the latest shows on your Smart TV.
I stayed here with my partner for one night as he was attending a concert at the city arena. We found it absolutely disgusting of Premier inn to be charging £200 for a one night stay (!!!) just because there was The Killers in concert and Radio 1's big weekend on that weekend. They knew people would be in need of hotels so put their price up to £200 per night - without breakfast included! How on earth can you justify this???? Upon arriving at our room we realised we had been put in a bog standard room, with a door adjoining us to the room next door. We were not asked if we were happy with this, and neither did we request this. As a female staying in that room at night on my own whilst my parter was at the concert, I felt very uneasy having a door adjoining me and the people in the room next door. The door also meant the room was not soundproof at all!!! i could hear the peoples conversations, the TV shows they were listening to and i could even hear them opening packets of crisps. Our window which overlooked the main road and the duel carriageway was also not soundproof at all. It sounded as though it was open, when it was closed. There were also very obvious drug dealers hanging around on the opposite side of the road to the hotel for most of the night. A very noisy room and a very bad night's sleep!!! The room was also boiling hot. Something which premier inn seem to pride themselves on is a peaceful night sleep... we didn't get this here. £200 for a hot, stuffy, noisy room which i didn't feel safe staying in on my own until my boyfriend came back just after midnight after the concert. The staff were pleasant enough, there is no storage facility to keep your bags safe if you want to carry on going round the city after checkout, they are just put behind the reception desk. We weren't given a ticket for our bags either, just asked what our name was. Upon returning to collect them we were just asked 'which ones are yours?'. If we had been charged the usual price for a premier inn we would have thought 'oh well' but for £200 we expected better than this.

My husband & I have stayed here regularly for a number of years, several times a year to visit family & friends in Coventry. It is very old and tired especially the bathrooms, mould on tiles and silicone.. The hotel is cold and lifeless. The main reason we have booked here so many times is because of its name, however our daughter has been telling us for a long time to try the Holiday Inn, which is over the road. Well this visit we took her advice.. a total game changer!!! .. it’s warm, welcoming and up to date . The rooms are lovely, fresh and new. On opening the curtains we seen a lovely fox on the lawn and rabbits.. the outlook is lovely. The staff are lovely!! STAY AWAY FROM THE DOUBLE TREE!! .. go to the HOLIDAY INN opposite! ..

Very disappointed with club rooms being moved a mile away (or it feels like) to ground floor other side of building and Sky channels have been stopped to! Although they relocated my room I was given standard room even though I paid 2 nights for Club room. Michael at reception a very helpful and friendly lad, always go and see him!

Welcome to town and gown. Coventry South is just a mortar's board throw away from Warwick University. But there's plenty of business being done here too, with the Jaguar and LandRover HQs nearby. Whatever drives your stay, you're in the perfect location. Catch a show or an exhibition at Warwick Arts Centre, or throw a teambuilding day at Stoneleigh Park. Stroll through Coventry city centre and marvel at the world-famous cathedral. Our friendly team will help you enjoy your stay to the full and our spacious rooms and extra-comfy beds will have you relaxing into the land of nod in no time.
This hotel is in dire need of refurbishment. The rooms are extremely dated and depressing. Our room had little natural sunlight and the lighting was poor. The bathroom was incredibly old and dated with mould and mildew on the shower fan and seals. This is more a reflection of the dated facilities rather than cleaning. One annoyance was that the room could only be cleaned in the morning however as were in the room and getting ready for functions at this time it was not possible. This meant our room was not cleaned for 4 days. We had to request everything manually from reception including toilet paper. This system should be reviewed. On a positive the staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately overall value for money was poor and would not consider staying again unless hotel is updated.
