The name BOCO is coined from BOrmla, which is the medieval name of the town, and COspicua derived from the title Città Cospicua bestowed in 1722 to Bormla by the Grand Master of the Order of the Knights of St. John, Fra Marc’Antonio Zondadari. The 5-level townhouse art installations adorning the house preserve the traditional richness inherited, primarily focusing on the journey of growth which the term BOCO signifies. There is art, symbology and quirkiness everywhere; the serene ambiance is tranquil, almost magical. The BOCO Art Deco townhouse was expertly converted and renovated in 2017 preserving and up-cycling all that was discovered during the laborious restoration process. Original frescoes were uncovered, the house restored to its original grandeur. A large passenger lift is now installed, together with climate control systems, 21 PV panels making the house more environmentally-friendly, smoke detectors / alarm, very good Wi-Fi, and all modern and comfortable amenities one would expect. The private guest bathrooms are spacious, and even these are adorned with quirky artworks. The penthouse level is the climax of the hotel where guests on our panoramic balcony are mesmerised by the sheer beautiful view of The Three Cities sprawling beneath them.
