Reviewed By 904agnescBig, busy hotel (I guess it's the best in town), in the new city center. It looks and feels like a business hotel. Around the pool area it tends to get noisy and busy during the day. Spaceous rooms, clean, nice bathroom where everything works properly. Breakfast is HUGE ! You don't know where to start looking for your food. Keep up the good work, guys !

Pantanal discovery badly organised
Reviewed By BienabcThe first day I was dropped somewhere without knowing what to do. After waiting for about an 1,5 hour some others came and we left to the farm. The guide told me that usually there will be a bootride on the first day, but there wasn't. Probably because we were not with enough people. So we ended up with doing nothing on the first day. All activities were on the second day, more people arrived, but the whole day it rained. So we ended up with nothing to see and looking wet. Nightwalk was cancelled becauae of the weather and the drive was at the 'normal' road. So that was all very disappointing. You can't influence the weather, but doing all activities on the 1 rainy day is just bad organised. They other 2 days we did almost nothing. On the way back, I was dropped on a crossroad without knowing what to expect. I found out that the bus to bonito would be there in 3 hours!!! So I had to wait near the road for 3 hours. that time I could spend at the farm. So again badly organized. For me it was a waist of money.

Quirky but good
Reviewed By GrandfatherRobertHow often has a total stranger walked up to you in the street and said "Welcome to my town"? It has happened twice to us here in Corumba. Perfectly situated on a sweeping bend of the beautiful Paraguay River, Corumba is a scruffy little town but has bags of charm. Much the same could be said of the Santa Monica Palace Hotel. Five star it is not. Sophisticated it is not. But all the basics are there, and a few special treats too. For instance, none of the front desk staff (nor anyone else for that matter) speaks English, but they will happily invite you behind the desk to chat with them online using Google Translate! There is a delightful pool area, and the breakfasts are excellent. The other great advantage of the Santa Monica over the other main hotels in the town is its location - right in the heart of the town centre. Bedrooms are basic and a bit on the small side. Bathrooms are a strange shape and have windows overlooking the corridor. All in all, we would recommend the place. Its qualities more than outweigh its odd little quirks.

Fantastic time
Reviewed By M DWe have spend three fantastic days at Sao Joao Fazenda. The food was very good and everybody is so friendly. The Pool was very nice during the Hot days !! We were the only guests at that time, so we had a private tourguide. Elias lives and breathes the Pantanal, he is unbelievable passionate about this special,magical piece on earth and always goes an extra mile for you. We did a lot of activities such as a boattour with beautiful scenaries and wildlife, horseriding in between the jaguar footprints, safari Tours and even a night walk. We placed a night camera together to see if the jaguars were walking there, because we saw a lot of fresh footprints. Elias speaks very good english which was great for our son to understand everything. He pointed out so many birds, unbelievable. We even saw some giant otters....Elias (aka jaguarman) made a noise where they reacted on. Very impressive. I loved the fact that Elias brought us some blue feathers he found from the hyacinth ara....so sweet. This way we could bring some pantanal with us to Europe. Every time I look at the feathers I think about the beautiful memories we made in the Pantanal. If you love nature, this is your place and Elias is your man! We will be back!!!

Our infrastructure was built and decorated in a rustic style to offer a welcoming atmosphere with comfort and quality. All the 17 apartments have private bathrooms, air conditioning and fridge bar. The tours offered are: horseback riding, boat or Canadian canoe, hike, 4wd safari, fishing accompanied by bilingual specialised and local guides.

Sandra and Martha are really enthusiastic hosts - always concerned about our needs during the stay and even before it. The tours that they provide were incredible - we were able to know the fauna and flora details through the Rafael's teachings. In short, definitely we will come back!

Reviewed By Juliano NHotel simples, muito bem limpo, apartamentos de tamanho mediano com ar e tv, banheiros um pouco pequenos mas nada que atrapalhe, preço acessível, internet (não pega muito bem por todo o hotel, mas na recepção e excelente), estacionamento amplo, café da manhã básico com suco, café, leite, frios, pães e frutas, funcionários bem atenciosos. Um hotel muito bom para viajantes é ou quem quer economizar um pouco!

Reviewed By ThiagofcomexLugar bacana e descolado para longos períodos de hospedagem. Conheci em março de 2021 quando me hospedei a trabalho, fiquei até meados de setembro entre idas e vindas. Quarto grande , ar condicionado gelando bem, TV com acesso à netflix, Disney, e vários canais o que é quase um milagre em Corumbá. Se você não quiser comer fora, pode cozinhar na pousada , pode usar a lavanderia para lavar a roupas, e o Dono João Mansur e um uma figura top de mais, virou meu amigo. Recordo 100% este lugar.
