GOOD: Room furnishings, carpet matches the furniture wonderfully, everything Nordic-chic, comfortable bed, very good pillows, excellent wifi! Friendly staff, great location on the water (definitely book river side with balcony!) Free parking, coffee 4 capsules in the room, left a very good impression! I will recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to the next visit in May, June this year. NOT GOOD: Showering in the tub is only possible for people < 1,80 M in a stooped position, because the rainforest shower hangs quite low. Even without this shower head, you have to bend down because the hose is only very short. The water in the hand basin only gets a little warm after several minutes (in fact, it takes almost 4 minutes with the water running....), whereas the water in the tub only takes the usual seconds to do so. By the way, I always wonder about the point of integrating a rainforest shower into a bathtub? A rainforest shower belongs in a shower so that you can experience this "effect". Standing at an angle in the bathtub with a distance of only a few centimetres from the wall is completely pointless for a rainforest shower.....

A few min drive from Compiegne centre. 43 Km from Roissy CDG airport. Air-conditioned & soundproofed rooms incl.3 For disabled guests. Satellite TV, direct dial phone, hairdryer & toilets. Restaurant, bar. Meeting facilities (450 people).
One star too many! Booked one night, half pension. Baby bed was available, but partly broke… Dinner was awful, just awful! As starter I got cold spaghetti with pesto, when I told the waitress it was cold, the reply was ‘that is how it should be’. Yeah right, lived in Italy 1.5 years, this is not right! Main was a fish brochette, placed on three leaves of salad. Plain, no taste, and not enough. Just sad… For dessert a brick of cold chocolate brownie, ok but nothing more. Breakfast was ok, served (as with dinner) in the cold and unpleasant meeting room as the restaurant was being renovated. When checking out, an additional €10 was charged without reason. Told the guy at the lobby, who wasn’t capable of depositing it back. We’ll see whether I get it. Overall: no Mercure for me anymore, you guys ruined it.

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our tour. The staff didn't seem to want to help, everything seemed to much trouble. We ended up eating in restaurant next door which wasn't great, as they said they only had one chef and he couldn't cope with 5 of us eating at once. Christ my mum used to cook for 6 no problem. The bar shut early not great when not much about. I left my special pillow there and was told it was £60 to post back to me which seems rediculous. Not great customer service, rooms are OK.

I've stayed in this chain many years ago when I needed a budget option. Decided to give it another go given I stayed with elderly parents and we needed an overnight stopover with an easy access room which is sometimes hard to come by in France. Firstly, it isn't new, as some photos suggest - the facilities are showing their age. However, it is clean and the bedding and towels are reasonable quality. The location is out of town in a quiet residential area. I recall the USP of Campanile was the good meals - which is why I chose it given we didn't want to go out again after arrival. Truth is the dining area is very basic décor wise and needs refreshing. The evening buffet didn't look fresh even though we were there at the opening time. We had an OK meal overall though - pizza was surprisingly good and the dessert buffet very comprehensive. Breakfast also more than acceptable.

Juana and Eric welcome you to their charming house in Saint Jean aux Bois, a beautiful village in the heart of the forest of Compiègne. The lifestyle and the serenity brings wholeness. Like many people, we fell in love to St. Jean. The house is on the route of the GR12 between Amsterdam and Paris. Departure of many varied opportunities in the open air of the forest of Compiègne (rent bike...).
Loved it! We already came in there almost 3 years ago and it’s still wonderful. Perfect for a small retreat, full of nature and the hosts are really kind! Really tasteful and calm, I recommand 100% if you feel you need calm and peaceful time!!!

I stayed in two rooms which were clean and renovated. However, the hotel has issues with heating and Internet connection. I suppose it is good for summer short stay but for longer stays in winter it may be not comfortable. For sure, you can find something better in Compiegne for the same price. They don't speak English at the reception.

It was an overnight stop en route to EuroDisney, We arrived late but entry is obtained by tapping in your booking ref number into the screen in the wall that gives you the code for entry and same code for the room ,the number of which is also displayed on the screen.Have a pen and paper handy!!!.. The first thing that hit us was the smell of cigarette smoke, fortunately that was just in the entrance. There were no towels to use .We entered the code on the key pad of our room but the door knob wouldn't turn to open the door ,we tried 3/4 times in the end I found someone to help us ,perhaps he had stayed in that room before because he gave it hard push and it opened luckily because it was nearly midnight ,and there was no-one else around.I had booked room only so had to pay extra for a minimal choice breakfast. That said it was clean and OK for a nights stopover. There is ample car parking space ,though many spaces were taken by commercial vans.

The staff at this hotel are great and cannot be more helpful. I have stayed at this hotel many times and the staff have always been helpful to an Englishman abroad! The centre of town is but a short walk away and the Chateau of Compiegne is not to be missed. I will be returning in 2022 I assure you.
