We stayed here recently and were greeted by very friendly staff. The afternoon check in attendant was knowledgeable about the area and suggested restaurants in the area. We especially appreciated the excellent breakfast service which was staffed by the sweetest lady ever. She was helpful and attentive and she made the BEST coffee. Highly recommend this location.

The location was perfect, but this hotel failed all around. 1) Upon check in, we were greeted with a sign, no breakfast. This was a major factor in us choosing this hotel - breakfast included with your stay; it was not for the duration of our stay. 2) The sign also suggested, no animals. We did, however, encounter a roach in our room, a dead bird in the pool, and frogs in the pool. Okay, my stay was at the end of April, so the pool wasn’t open, but the water was black on top of the tarp, and it smelled awful. Despite the exterior, there’s no reason for a roach. 3) Our toilet leaked. All on the floor and the toilet bowl was not caulked. It was almost as if the room was out of service, but they allowed us to stay in it because the phone and desk lamp didn’t work either ?♂️. The handyman was pretty quick to get the bowl operational, but I still observed a water leak upon departure. 4) They were going through major room remodeling, and it showed in our room as we were missing paint where new drywall had been hung. The AC also made the rooms smell really bad…or maybe that was the very old carpet. Pillows were not comfortable and the room seemed really small based on the stuff they are updated the rooms with. 5) The stairwell and parts of the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. I’m not sure if the stairwell is an approved smoking location, but the smell was thick. 6) Onto the positives: The location was exactly where I needed the hotel to be. Close to waffle house, McAllisters deli, Walmart, Kroger, Mcdonald’s, Dunkin, Chick-fil-a, Burger king, Ridley Sports Complex, etc. Lastly, get a handicapped room if you need space, unfortunately, the normal rooms do not have any room to move around.

We stayed here for 6 days due to its close location to my daughter and grandchildren. We would have left after the first night, but all hotels nearby were booked with the Memorial Day weekend. I have a lot to say but will summarize: First off, no elevator nor carts for luggage; stairs to the upper level were filthy with mud and dirt, most likely from the construction workers for the parking lot that was being resurfaced; two bath towels and hand towels that had seen their day; no maid service nor fresh towels unless you make a request (I found out - after we came back at midnight - to find our towels by the door where we left them); air vent in hallway was covered with dust; the fitness room's two cardio machines were not working; plug/outlet covers missing; room painted with a roller on sides of tub, on toilet paper dispenser and smoke alarm; and powdered artificial creamer for the coffee. I expressed my complaints to the front desk and asked to have the manager call me several times, but by the end of the week, the stairs were still filthy and I have yet to hear from the manager. I guess I was expecting too much for $125 a night at a Quality Inn!

After reading some of the older reviews, I have determined that this hotel must be under new management. The room/bathroom was clean. The front desk clerk was friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic….biscuits, gravy, eggs, ham, waffles, pancakes, pastries, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, juice, etc. The coffee was great and there was even hot water and a selection of tea and hot cocoa packets. The lady who was taking care of the breakfast area was very sweet. The hotel is in a very quiet area. The cell service and the hotel wifi was weak. We stayed in a king room and had plenty of towels and an extra roll of toilet paper. For some reason, the elevators and hallways were quite warm, but the room was nice and cool. Great experience! We would definitely stay here again.

STAY AWAY!!! Booked a reservation, got a call from the motel to confirm, and then they charged my card. When I arrived several hours later, they had given my reservation away and at that point had no rooms left. Ended up having to drive 45 minutes at midnight to find another hotel room. Piss poor customer service! These people will screw you over in a heartbeat!

Bathroom was visibly dirty. I had to clean the tub out before showering. There was a braided hair piece left on the bathroom counter from a previous guest. When I brought to staff attention, I was told it was due to new housekeeping staff.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE! !! Booked my reservation March 10, 2022 for Candlewood Suites in Columbia, TN. Checked in online June 1st for after 10pm Thurs. arrival when I received the email to check in. Got there Thursday evening (called prior to let them know I would be late checking in). Upon arrival Cody @ the front desk advised that they did not have a room available. He could not explain how they gave my already checked into room away and had no other rooms that would fit all 3 of us. I had to go to the Choice hotel across the road to find somewhere to stay the night since I was 10 1/2 hours away from home. Was on the phone with customer relations from 2:30 am- 4 am. They had no availability close by and offered us a hotel 30 miles away for a 1 night discount. Called the GM Darrell Bradford the next day and he "found us a room" and agreed to pay for the Choice Hotel night and 1 night @ Candlewood. (even though he told me that when the make a customer "walk" because they do not have a room to accommodate the reservation, that they are responsible for paying for the entire reservation.) So my total would be $165.30 + tax. His night auditor was to make the adjustment. Upon checking out, my receipt was for $197.96. My card was charged $395.92. And I never received credit yet for the 1 night at Choice hotels. I am now 9 phone calls into this with promises both from the GM and corporate for callbacks, with no response. Stay somewhere else, the Choice hotel across the road was very clean and accommodating for a last minute reservation. I wish they had more than that 1 night available. I will NEVER stay at an IHG hotel again.
