Very nice. And the sauna was great , the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. We could borrow a waterboiler from housekeeping to make tea in the room. Also the view on the Mosel was beautiful from the rooms.

An older style hotel, we visited on our motorcycle and the staff let us park the bike in their garage just across the road, we had a third floor room with a view to the castle. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of items. Rooms were well appointed for the price and the shower was good.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. it's in a beautiful old building, but the rooms are kept modern. The rooms were very spacious, breakfast was great, the location of the hotel is also just a couple of minutes walking from the town center, right on the Mosel river. Private parking is available, the building involves quite a number of steps, so guests need to be able to navigate those. upon arrival we were greeted by the most adorable front desk worker, Mozart, a young and exuberant puppy that made our whole groups day!!!! We would definintely stay here again!

Paid €420 for 2 nights for 2 ppl., early October weekend. Exorbitant pricing for what’s on offer. Location is excellent, but couldn’t see any other possible correlation between pricing and standard of accommodation. Room was small but well-appointed and clean. OK view from balcony. Breakfast was a joke; rancid fruit salad, no butter, missing serving utensils, flies on everything. Staff seemed very “off”, and didn’t anticipate any needs. Needless to say, didn’t return for breakfast on the second day. Checking out took 20 min due to a queue. Would not recommend this place; was an absolute rip-off.

Had a problem with parking, which is in a different place from the villa, and the gentleman on the phone hung up on me, this is after I spent and hour to find them and booked the room with the nice lady. Still, no polite aproach and no professionalism towards tourism. Parking is in a dark street away from the house. A shame really.

A very nice hotel located in a place where you can have a great view of the river and the castle. I had a really cozy and comfortable single room (#2) from which I had an amazing view of both the Cochem castle and the Mosel River. The food at the breakfast buffet was also very good and I was able to find anything I needed. And last but not least I'd like to mention Herr Stumberger for being such an excellent and kind host. He explained everything to me the night I arrived and he was very helpful during my stay at the hotel. He remembered what kind of coffee I drink and he had it ready on my table the moment I stepped in the restaurant! He was also very kind as to arrange a taxi for me for the day of my departure so I wouldn't miss my early morning flight. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Cochem and wants feel like home during the stay!!

I booked this hotel for a weekend as our wedding anniversary celebration. We were welcomed very warmly and personally escorted to our room. We had a balcony with a view of the vineyards, castle and the town below. It was great. The room was nicely equipped and had a German queen bed (two twins pushed together) and was comfortable. There was even a bottle of local Reisling in our fridge as a welcome gift. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant that evening and were pleasantly surprised. The meal started with a cream of garlic soup (divine!), salad and entree of very tender beef slices over vegetables and au gratin potatoes. Dessert was home made apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely delicious! We also used the schwimbad and sauna during our stay and had massages at the Wellness Villa (which was a tad challenging to find). Everyone we came in contact with at the hotel was very personable and friendly with the exception of the person at the desk of the villa. When we arrived for our massages, we were greeted in German and as we gave the girl our paperwork we asked - in German - if she could speak English to us. She glared at us and stated very brusquely "please sit down". I totally did not expect such a sharp greeting and we just walked over to the seating area. This was the only part of this experience that I would say was negative. Would it be enough to not recommend this hotel? No. You can't blame everyone for one sharp, rude comment. The experience overall was great and the food was really good. I wouldn't normally have paid this much for a hotel room but it was a special occasion.

We have stayed in Cochem a couple of times before and the previous hotels have been OK but not great. This one though is GREAT, fabulous in fact from the very warm welcome to the great room with a great view (room 1) No formal bar but there is an honesty bar with more than enough wine, beer and schnapps to keep you happy? Breakfast was very continental but excellent nonetheless. Parking is off road and next to the hotel a real bonus for Cochem, but once there you don’t need the car as everything is walkable By a mile the best hotel we have stayed in at Cochem and we will use again.

Cochem is a very picturesque town, in the unique Mosel landscape. The number of festivals and markets in Cochem make the city a unique experience. The Hotel Haus Sonnschein is located directly on the banks of the Moselle in Cochem-Cond. The accommodation offers a view of the Reichsburg Cochem and the river. It offers comfortably furnished rooms and a rich breakfast buffet each morning. The size of the rooms varies between 8 m² and 30 m². The apartments of the hotel have a fully equipped kitchen. The Panorama Restaurant serves regional cuisine, cakes and ice cream specialties. On pleasant days you can enjoy meals and drinks outside on the river terrace.
Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed my stay. The hosts were warm and friendly, the breakfast was very good and the location was great (just across the bridge from the town). The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but a bit quirky. The room was on the third floor and the toilet was in a cubicle out in the hall. I understand that this and the adjoining room are sometime used as a suite. The shower (private) was in a room 1/2 floor down at the end of the hallway. Would stay here again realizing that these arrangements are just the nature of older hotels.
