Formerly a fishing village, Carvoeiro is flanked on either side by the sandstone sea cliffs characteristic of southern Portugal. The town's horsehoe-shaped bay is hailed as one of the Algarve's best beaches, with golden sand backed by whitewashed Mediterranean houses.

The Algarve is a recognized holiday destination, but also a privileged destination for special meetings and memorable events. In the picturesque village of Carvoeiro, on Vale Covo beach, where the blue sea draws cutouts on the imposing cliffs and the fine sands contrast with the green of the golf courses, Tivoli Carvoeiro is reborn. The high standards of quality and level of service of the Tivoli brand are portrayed in this unique space of architecture aired and open to the horizon, which proves to be the right choice for the best family holidays as well as meeting and differentiating events.
After delays at Manchester airport and Jet2 keeping us waiting 1.5 hours for a transfer, it was wonderful to arrive at the Tivoli Hotel. One look at the view from street level across the hotel bar and to the swimming pool and coastline, we knew we had made the right decision. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is very good, the waiters/resses are friendly and efficient. The pool is cold, but with the great weather, it just about gets away with it. The cafe at the pool serves excellent food, the service can be a little slow as there are often queues but the waiters do their best to please. The Sky Bar has fantastic views, it is a shame that it doesn't stay open past 9pm in May/June as they turn the music down and close the bar, if it played louder/livelier music till 10pm or later, it would attract more people. There are plenty of places to lounge in the sun, if you want to get away from the pool. I saw a couple of examples of guests with bad attitudes and was impressed with how the staff dealt with them, for example people on honeymoon cannot expect waiters to save them the best table at the front with the sea view everyday, guests like this spoil the atmosphere for everyone else. I cannot really fault the Tivol hotel, but just offer a few suggestions: keep the prices more reasonable at Sky Bar and more people would drink there and for longer; give reception staff better training so they know everything about the rooms, the hotel and surrounding area, run Yoga classes every morning on the grass outside, maybe offer fruit instead of chocolates as part of the turn-down service; finally go back to keys as those cards just take up too much of your holiday getting them re-programmed. In summing up, wonderful, superb, highly recommend.

The low density construction integrates you fully into the landscape, making our townhouses the ideal choice for families with children or for long-term holidays. All have a typical Algarve chimney.
This is certainly not a five star hotel. I am reviewing it as if it was a five star hotel as that is what I thought I was booking. Grounds are generally very nice, well kept. Cleanliness is good - when it’s done. Food quality in the restaurant for dinner is very good. Reception staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming. Feels very tired inside. Needs some TLC in places. Big crack in one of the ceiling panes in the restaurant, items are worn and sun damaged. Appliances in the rooms are old, sun damaged and faded - although clean and useable. Our biggest criticism is the staff. It felt like they really didn’t want to be there. Despite seeing the same people each day, there was never any recognition or continuity. Everything was way too much for them - an inconvenience. Uniforms were old and didn’t look clean (white shirts gone grey, not ironed etc). I would have been less ‘picky’ if I hadn’t been led to believe it was a five star hotel. Managing expectations is important.

Pestana Palm Gardens enjoys a stunning location overlooking the ocean, the apartments are about 1.8 km from the center of the picturesque village of Carvoeiro. The village has preserved its charm and character. There are many beautiful sandy beaches close by where you can spend a tranquil time with your family. In summer, the whole town comes to life with a variety of cultural, musical and gastronomical events held in the main square. The complex is also about a 10 minutes’ drive from Pestana Carvoeiro Golf which is home to the two tournament courses of Pinta and Gramacho. Guests at Pestana Palm Gardens enjoy benefits and discounts at the golf course which also includes a Clubhouse and golf academy.
Great small scale resort with exceptionalle friendly staff. Clean, convenient, no nonsense. Basic pool, but good enough for small kids. Easy to keep oversight and appartement conveniently close to pool. Also very nice beach at walking distance

Monte Santo Resort in Carvoeiro, offers a range of modern and luxurious Suites, apartments and townhouses. Just 45 minutes from Faro airport, Monte Santo is situated on the hilltops over Carvoeiro, a historic fishing town.Whether you are looking for a relaxing Algarve holiday, a fun-filled family holiday, or a spa or golf weekend, Monte Santo will cater to your every need with 5 star luxury.
Not 5 star. It's another multi financial income stream resort with a lot of empty apartments not being used and the facilities reflect the fact people who are often here are not demanding 5 star. In the US this would be 3 star, maybe 4 at a push. Before you write me off as a moaning American bore, I'm neither American or a bore and I appreciate these are 1st world moans, but we've been to others nearby and saved hard for this, it's just not 5 star and these details need fixing... Why not 5 star? Examples; 1) reception couldn't supply any basics after one of our bags had been lost in transit, 2) they don't deliver 'room service' food or drink to your room/apartment/villa, 3) sauna out of order, 4) hot tub water stank of feet, 5) zero complimentary anything upon arrival, 6) not the best grounds, 7) indoor swimming pool handrail missing exposing her dangerous sharp step edges your kids could just jump into, 8) average evening meals not a spot on local restaurants, 9) old school TV channel system, 10) old school DVD player and no DVD's in site, 11) air conditioning wouldn't work despite following the manual - we've seen the reviews saying it does but not for us so we had to have someone look at it, 11) zero local information on places to go, maps, restaurants, places of interest in the room welcome pack and internal hotel TV channel useless other than photos of the place you can see with your own eyes, 12) no tables or chairs on the upstairs balcony so you have to carry up the ones from the back garden or just don't use the balcony which then becomes a complete waste of space, 13) warning, don't carry the chairs from downstairs up to your balcony unless you are prepared to get rust water from the furniture leaking all over your clothes and over anything else you walk past in the apartment (jeez, basics!), 14) half the staff are not multilingual (I know, I shouldn't be so ignorant but I'm not, I can speak all the basics, but it's annoying to have a very friendly eager member of staff come over to you only to then turn around to the same 2 other members of staff to understand exactly what you want (again, basics), 15) unreliable Wi-Fi upstairs in our apartment, worked ok with our old iPhone downstairs but not an up-to-date android - maybe the new phone? Who knows, shrug, but annoying. 16) you get the idea. It's ok but don't expect the best, which for me, 5 star should be, it's 4 star at best. (Please don't tell me just because it has a dishwasher and dodgy Wi-Fi/ TV it's considered 5 star!) Despite my 1st world moans enjoy, but demand more! :)

Situated overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and only 3 km from the enchanting old fishing village which is Praia do Carvoeiro, we invite you to come and experience the beauty and tranquillity of the 4 Star ‘Rocha Brava Village Resort’. Come and discover what the heart of the Algarve has to offer, including the numerous silver beaches that are close to us here at the Rocha Brava Village Resort, as well as some of the best golf courses in the Algarve.
Absolutely fabulous resort in a fabulous location. The accommodation is second to none. My wife and I are staying in an apartment which, when we first arrived, were amazed how lovely it is. It's extremely clean and beautifully furnished and well designed. TV's in both the living room and bedroom, with a good sized kitchen with all that you need. The beds are really comfortable and there's plenty of storage. There are 3 swimming pools (one indoors, which thankfully we've not needed to use). There's a small, cozy swimming pool right near our apartment but we like using the main larger pool when there's a bar which sells great food and drink. There's a well stocked supermarket in site which, to be honest, is quite good value. It's not Sainsbury's/Tesco's/Aldi prices but you wouldn't expect it to be. The staff there are extremely friendly and speak perfect English. There's also a really good coffee bar next to the supermarket which sells great tasting food and drink. The staff are really friendly and also speak perfect English. They also have entertainment on certain days who are also excellent. The reception has everything you expect along with a great choice of trips you can book. Very nice and friendly staff too who speak perfect English. There's also another restaurant on site of which we haven't tried but looks great. Rocha Brava is a quiet resort but near to it, there are another three restaurants. The main town of Carvoerio is a short bus or taxi ride away. The resort have a free bus 3 times a day. Carvoeiro is a much larger place of which we are going soon. Rocha Brava is a must place to go.

We booked on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Our sea and pool view was lovely with balconies both upstairs and down ( previously was a self catering apartment). Very clean and well kept. Restaurant was very good with good variety of menu including local dishes. Bathroom very clean. Towels very good. Pools for all ages, the main pool being a good size and all kept clean. Access to beach is by both an easy way and a more challenging way. There was some entertainment for those wishing to spend time in the bars. Would return.

Great holiday at placid village. Spotless apartment, great facilities including a washing machine in the apartment and great shower. Pool area lovely with beds and umbrellas. Quiet and peaceful at night and just a short walk into carveiro. Taxi home very reasonable at under 5 euro. My absolute favourite was the covered area with the comfortable chairs on the tiled patio no such glamourous spot for a 5pm gin and tonic this week! Highly recommend placid village

I had such a nice stay at Hello Villas. The villa were clean and really comfy. It’s really calm and you get your own parking spot. The staff is friendly and ready to help you. It was only missing some liquid soap for dirty dishes but otherwise, everything was perfect! I’d recommend It to anyone. It’s worth the price and the proximity with the city center by car or foot is appreciated!

We visited their Sky bar for the pupose of getting coffee and to check the place out, for a future stay. Although the hotel has had a recent revamp and looks nice and modern, we were very disappointed to be given a half empty cup of coffee. That which was in the cup was mostly froth. It was particularly annoying as we were charged €2.50 each, the most expensive coffee that we had in the Algarve. Then visited the toilets, nice tiles but no paper towel in the machine for drying hands. This hotel presents as a four star but does not live up to that expectation, in my opinion. We brought these issues to the attention of the reception manager but he just shrugged his shoulders at us. Obviously didn't care. This attitude, we thought, was completely unacceptable. So we will not be staying at this establishment.

This b&b has lovely spacious rooms I think 8 of them. Maria is a charming and helpful host. Also she is very knowledgeable about the area and walking. The breakfast is excellent and there are many inexpensive places to eat a short drive away. The pool is great and the pool area is good for relaxing after a walk.
