This is not a 4 star hotel

Hotel is extremely dated & needing a fortune spent on it. Food was average. All staff we came across were pleasant. Beautiful location, wouldn’t return due to the condition of the hotel. Beds were clean & comfortable so has a good enough night sleep. Our 2 night stay wasn’t expensive so I guess you get what you pay for

Me and my friends/old colleges went for lunch today table of 8. Waited 45 mins on our food despite it being absolutely dead. A vegetarian panini tuned up with chicken in it, another panini barely any filling soggy and falling apart, uncooked noodles in the stir fry, the cheese on both the nachos and macaroni was unmelted and looked like it has come straight out a pre grated clumpy pack, stale nacho chips. The only chef on was too busy being behind the bad, clearing tables and answering phones, again despite it being dead. My fiend brought her children who also ordered food. And while them eating their desserts, said chef swanned past the table with another employee staying very loudly ‘well they certainly won’t eat all that’ in a very snide and unprofessional tone. The dirty plates were sat in front of us for at least 45 mins and when cleared only 3/4 was. We had to put the rest of them on the bar ourselves. Ordered and paid for deserts which was forgotten about for 35 mins. No empty glasses were collected and had to put on the bar ourselves. No check backs done on our food. One panini was replaced but came out all black and burnt. Basically just absolutely dreadful and used to be amazing for food. Clearly can’t handle a table of 8 so unsure why they agree. Would definitely not recommend!

A breath of fresh air - wonderful couple

We stayed at hotel to see family and the new owners could not be more caring, kind, hospitable, warm and welcoming. There is excellent hotel leadership! The new owners are so hard working in bar, restaurant and hotel with team of staff which are all very caring to respectful customers especially elderly gents & ladies. Negativity does not do this warm family hotel any justice and praise more appropriate to an amazing team with great food and lovely rooms.

Good location, friendly owners

I stayed here for 4 nights while on family business nearby and found it comfortable and clean, with friendly helpful owners. there is also ample private parking and good WIFI. I did find that there was a bit too much in the way of "air freshener" (plug in etc) for me, but that's probably my problem and it certainly didn't seem to be to cover up any horrible smell! Also almost no electrical sockets in the room and very little in the way of clothes hanging space or hooks in the room. However overall I found it fine and would be happy to stay again.

We haven’t managed any family breaks in a long time so this was precious family time! Thank u can’t wait to come back
