We went for a few days and we loved the atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and gave us good advise on things to see and do in the area. The hotel is in a small hamlet with traditional Galician building. The staff made us feel very welcome and part of the family, they really made our stay memorable. The amenities and food was also great. We definitely recommend this place for a few days of relax or as a base if driving around.

Hotel-Restaurant recommended in the Michelin Guide 2018. Built in 1672 by the Marquis of Montenegro, on a medieval tower in an ancient Celtic hill fort, Pazo do Souto opened its doors 1992 as one of the first rural tourism houses in Galicia. It remains today a benchmark of quality and service, not only in this area but allover Galicia. The ongoing reforms that the owners have done during these years, have converted it among the most comfortable lodgings with great facilities and services. Since 2008 has the certificate of quality tourism "Q de Calidad". Associated with Pazos de Galicia. Today we have a total of 13 comfortably equipped rooms to feel like at home. We offer 2 Suite rooms and a Luxury Suite with stone fireplace and jacuzzi. We also have 7 Special Double rooms with jacuzzi bath and double bed and 3 Attic Double rooms with bathroom with shower. All rooms are equipped with TV, telephone, private bathroom and internet Wifi. Relaxing in a grand Historical Manor.
We spent 8 nights at this wonderful rural hotel and were so sad to leave Carlos, Lola ? and his wonderful team. Why? Authentic- this old building has been lovingly restored with plenty of interesting features. You definitely feel you are in the heart of the Galician countryside. The gardens are stocked with fruit and vegetables- no doubt much of which ends up on your plate. But importantly for a teenager in tow - has reliable WiFi ! Quiet location- just outside the town and less than half an hour from Razo beach for intrepid surfers or more modest body boarders/swimmers. We took longer day trips to A Coruna and Fisterre and explored much of the coast from Muxia to Malpica. We also spent plenty of time sunning ourselves by the pool. Most importantly we definitely RELAXED! A beautiful room - so glad we opted for the Luxury Suite - plenty of space to spread out and large bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Coffee machine, mini bar and chocolates extra touches. Our 15 year old son was equally happy in his own space in the standard double. Food! Although not walking distance to the town, we felt there was no need. We ate in the hotel 7 of the 8 nights and sampled most of the menu more than once! The seafood cannelloni, fillet steak with cheese, and calamari from the restaurant menu were firm favourites as were the Padron Peppers, burger, croquettas and spicy potatoes from the “snack ” menu - which we happily mixed and matched. Galicia Estrella beer and a good wine choice an added bonus! Breakfast was a broad spread of hams, cheese, eggs, fresh bread and cakes and our favourite- freshly squeezed orange juice. Service- this undoubtedly was what made Pazo de Souto so special for us . Silvia and Sergio were a great help in the restaurant with our really inadequate Spanish. When we left our vocabulary was much improved- they were so patient to teach us. And Carlos went truly above and beyond when we had to find a doctor/pharmacy for our sons ear infection. It was hugely reassuring to have someone with us helping with the translation/ navigating the system. Doctor/prescription/pharmacy done in less than 2 hours. All in all a truly wonderful stay. Would most definitely return when next in the area.

Art Surf Camp is a hostel located in Razo beach with seaview, near Carballo in A Coruna, Galicia. Our hotel has 19 rooms and it has also private bathroom and we provide you all the facilities you need. We organize surf lessons and surf camps all included for adults and juniors in summer time.
I came alone to the Artsurfcamp and spent one week there. It was an amazing time! The Surfcamp is really beautiful and it’s looking like a typical beach house. Besides the staff was very friendly and taught me very well how to surf. Also I met nice people (most of them are from Spain but this is no problem because everyone is very open :)) and the food was always a lot and very good. For all the reasons I can recommend the camp to everyone who wants to learn surf and to have fun.

According to some historians’ statements, water from Balneario de Carballo was already known and used by Romans. In 1716 some neighbours from the area noticed some weird phenomenon. They began digging and found a stone basin of the ancient spring. Soon after, works were carried out to take advantage of their medical use. According to a description in 1764 medicinal water was used in a kind of wells where bathers went into. There were some small buildings for the aguistas, another one for the military and a shelter for the poor. In 1817 they went into Facultative Management. After it was neglected for a while, springs were acquired by Torre Penela Count, who brought a simple spa into operation from 1851 to the end of the century. In 1928 spa water was declared to be for public use. In 1930 the excellent bathing house was said to be really crowded and to have an inn and a chapel by Eugenio Carre Aldao in Geografia General del Reino de Galicia, Provincia de A Coruna. Nowadays, the complex has two-star hotels and a spa area with advanced technology, which is under control of a medical director and his assistants’ team. In 2007 its spa facilities got the quality Q, and some months later the distinction was for its hotel. Since then, and taking into account the quality policy of the centre, we are continuously working in order to improve our services.
What a beautiful town in northern Spain. It was idealic. Everyone in town was so nice, lots of tapas bars and restaurants where you can meet the locals. Everyone in this town were very welcoming. This is a very walkable town, there is a town square where families come with their children. There is a beautiful river that runs through town where you can have picnics and the town is a short drive to mountains and beaches.
