Beautiful location but overpriced

Reviewed By 657sweetb

We stayed at the lodge for a week and it's been too long for this place. It's a beautiful location for couples who would like to enjoy each other's company. There's not much to do if you like to explore it or have a social life at night . Trekking through the forest/jungle is a good fun but not for everyone. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Capurgana and about 3 hours to Sapzurro.-places definitely worth it to see while you are here. The owner was very helpful but the staff don't speak English and there's no customer service for their visitors. The beach is full of all sorts of garbage and not maintained at all. They switch off the generator around 8-9 pm and there's no lights or power in the bungalows ; The food is very basic; chicken every day... The best way to get there is a flight to Capurgana or Acandi and then a direct boat. Capurgana is closer but flights are limited to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The nearest "shop" is at El Aguacate Bay but it's limited to some drinks, beer, snacks and cigarettes. The bungalows are very rustic and basic; definitely not worth the price for it. This place could be a real paradise if it was run by young people with an idea to use the charms of this place because it is the only area with a sandy beach.

The owners, staff and space at Hostal Capurganá were amazing. Very kind, communicative, clean, honest, helped us with our money (no ATM’s there, fyi), told us where to go, and even had a tv that I could watch a soccer game from back in the states on. We could not be more happy and grateful for our experience with them. Thank you so much for having us! We hope to see you again someday!

As close to nature as it gets

Reviewed By GFEric

Although I came here during the pandemic while it was extremely quiet in Capurganá (there were almost no foreign tourists at the time), I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights here. It's right along a nature trail you can hike to the Panamanian border (once it reopens), and you're surrounded by jungle even though you have only a quick walk to town. The hosts were kind and helpful, and the facilities are rustic but comfortable. The made-to-order breakfast was terrific, and it was fun using the open-to-the-sky shower. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to Capurganá (it takes some effort and time to get there), but this is where I'll stay if I do.

Como estar en casa

Reviewed By anfela87

Volveríamos a visitar La Kasona.

Nice and comfortable

Reviewed By Reesehdz

This is a place to get away. The facilities are clean, except for the pool being full of leaves. The food is delicious. Do not expect modern amenities such as Wifi, TV or even 24 hour electricity, or hot water. This is a place to disconnect from everything. There is no need for such things. The view of the sea is amazing and it is basically the only hotel in town to have it. The satff is very friendly. Electricity is on and off as it is in the whole town, nothing they can do to improve that, but they do have a strong power plant so you will get some AC time. You will not find hot water anywhere here, it's too hot for that. I definitely recommend it!

Not worth at that price!

Reviewed By ColinBy85

I went to Bahia Pinorroa Lodge because I had been suggested and paid a reserve but I left after a day stay due to the fact that was totally overpriced compared to what was offered. Food was just decent, staff very friendly but the the price they charge is absolutely ridicolous. There are better options in the village.
