The BGK is a lodge built with natural materials typical of the area and located right on the waterfront, under the shade of a huge palm tree grove. The distribution of the rooms allows guests to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere. Lodges are directly in front of your kitesurf spot. The location is prime. Barra Grande is in the Parnaíba River Delta (Piauí) surrounded by two important national Parks: Jericoaquara and Lençóis Marahenses, both just a short drive away.

Reviewed By StefanS71We stayed at BGK for two days on our trip along the north of Brazil. It was a very good choice. As a family of 4 we booked one of the bungalows at the pool. While the bungalow was very basic, it was clean and it is really a lovely setting. Also there was plenty of space to spread out with a balcony, patio and a nice private seating area underneath the bungalow. Even as the BGK seemed to be sold out, it did not feel very busy at / around the pool, so it was really a relaxing experience. Also the pool hrs are between 10am and 7pm to ensure you can enjoy your time in your place. BGK is located directly at the beach, so you can also spend some time there, and it is also a nice beach. You have also a bar/restaurant there and a kit surfing school. The breakfast was great with a large variety and also they prepare fresh pancakes, tapioca, etc. during they day you can get drinks at the pool or you use the bar/restaurant at the beach. For Dinner, you have plenty of nice restaurants near by within a few min walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was really a great stay and we enjoyed it. We could have spend a few more days at BGK.

Reviewed By vrudziewiczThis is the second time we have come to this pousada and we were not disappointed. Actually the service and the restaurant were even better than last time. I was totally surprised that they now offer vegan options in such an authentic and preserved place. All the staff was so kind! They made us feel really unique and were always listening and making everything they could to make our stay unforgettable. At first, we choose this place for its luxury assets but now it's so much more: safe heaven and peacefulness. Thank you again for all these great memories. See you next time !

Reviewed By Nomad42890519434Restaurant is horrible, bad service and not tasty food. They even can not serve properly done papaya cream. Waiting time 2 hours to get any food.I do not recommend this place . They even made wrong calculation of our bill. Food does not compare to other restaurants in Barra Grande.

Reviewed By TbnvlrI've spent couple of days there and I really enjoyed the place, the ocean is at few steps and staff is very nice and always available. The breakfast is very rich and good, you can see that is made with love.

Reviewed By 863arjanhWith an not even 1 minute walk to the kitespot this is the best kite pousada in Barra Grande. Rooms are modern and clean. Beds are comfortable and the staff is always there to help you. No doubt that I will come back next time. John, the owner, is a very nice guy.

Reviewed By CoolsnowBWe stayed in the Bambu bungalow which had an upper loft with a double bed and two twins on the ground floor. The large bathroom came with hot water for showering. The porch had a hammock and the room was well appointed with air conditioning, tv and fridge. The manager Valentina and staff were very dedicated attentive with their guests! Highly recommended!

Reviewed By Andrew NThe internet didn't work, the breakfast was disorganized, the staff were not friendly, the door didn't close properly in the room, and there was no shampoo! The location is great, but there are plenty of other hotels with a much better cost/benefit ratio.

Tati and Denny are great people and love what they are doing, just living their dream:) They made me feel very welcomed and were always there for a nice chat or to help out if I needed something. They showed me around and went kitesurfing with me a few times. The atmosphere at the hostel is very nice, they have a few volunteers helping out so that there is always someone around, there is great food and drinks at the bar in the evening and some days there are special evenings with live music.
