Mansions and majestic hotels serve as reminders of Bar Harbor’s past (in the 19th century, it was a favorite vacation spot of society’s upper crust). Today, visitors kayak, explore Acadia National Park, go bird- or whale-watching, and enjoy salty sea air and sandy beaches.

The first thing we noticed is the huge gap in the door. Sunlight came in. Next the toilet was dirty was the previous guests. One of the towels had a huge clump of hair in it. And to the cherry on top was an incredibly uncomfortable bed.

Personalized friendly service, peaceful and quiet waterfront setting, spectacular views, close to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Spacious oceanfront hotel rooms with balconies. Complimentary made to order breakfast, shuttle service, fresh baked cookies, and free wireless internet.
Thank you for your hospitality, Bayview Hotel. The team here made our stay special - Greg, Serge, Chamarie, Dixie - everyone we interacted with was so kind and personable. The morning breakfast, including homemade granola, was the perfect start to our day, the location to the park entrance and downtown Bar Harbor ideal, and the view was amazing! All we can say is thank you, Bayview Hotel.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Check-in was easy. Hotel was a GREAT location to the Bar Harbor Village for dinner every night without moving the car-just a few block walk to many choices. Breakfast served on site from 7am -10am which was convenient. My only suggestion was to open the coffee bar at 6:30am before breakfast as a convenience, since staff is there anyway prepping breakfast. Thank you for a lovely two nights!

Each day at the Heathwood Inn starts with a full hot breakfast featuring homemade goodies baked fresh each morning. Extras include : A gift shop on site in the breakfast room. We have Cards, Postcards, Maine Nature Photos, and we make sea glass jewelry and art works out of sea glass collected off our Island Shores. Order a fresh pie or cinnamon rolls or a fresh scrumptious fresh bread We offer Kayak & Canoe rentals and deliver to your freshwater destination for a small fee.
We partially chose this Inn because we love B&B but this is not a B&B, no breakfast instead an envelope with a coupon to a greasy spoon located 6 miles away in Bar Harbor. No host to welcome you, envelopes with the room name are displayed on a table with a key inside, The front door must be left unlocked 24/7. It is in a country setting but close to the main road, very noisy. I could get past all the tacky garage sale decor but not the bed. The mattress was the worst, soft, lumpy, dangerous to a person's back. They call it no contact hosting, I say no effort, no pride and no respect for guests.

Eden Village Motel & Cottages is located in Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, just 5 minutes from the main entrance to Acadia National Park. Set back from Route 3, Eden Village is comprised of 11 cottages and a 10 unit motel building and cottages set upon 25 areas of carefully landscaped property. The property features its own private pond with free pedal boats, fishing, basketball, a playground and a private 1 mile nature walk.
We very much enjoyed our stay here! The property is beautifully maintained with a playground and cute lake, and our kids enjoyed the paddle boat and watching the mama and baby ducks. The cabins were stocked with everything we needed, and we enjoyed the fresh air on the screened porch. The property is convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor (~10-15 min drive down the road) and the mainland. The only downside was a bit of noise from the road. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay again!
