This was suppposed to be a nice family dinner but it turned out to be a dreadful experience. The dinner started very nicely with a very friendly waiter who was attentive and very helpful. After our main meals were served, the waiter disappeared and it took hours to order and receive our desserts and the check. We could have left without paying as the staff present just waived us goodbye! We ordered the piece of beef for 2 and that was a rip-off! There was no way we received 650g. If you really want to go there, just stick to the local specials and arrive at 6pm, hoping that there will still be a waiter when you’re done. Please note that parking is extremely difficult especially when valet parking is not indicated.

We arrived quite late at night without a prior reservation but getting a room was no problem. We were given a room with a nice view. The room was very clean but not recently renovated. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant downstairs, lots of locals. The breakfast was sufficient. Very friendly personnel who made us feel very welcome. A dinner at the pub next door is also a good option, especially when the restaurant has a "ruhetag".

We called in at the Sackman Hotel and were told there was just the buffet. Thinking that would be fine we put our jackets down and looked at the selection. No wonder there were just 2 other couples. The offering was dreadful. The lovely lady at reception seemed to understand and suggested the Lowen hotel 80 meters away. I see from the bill that is owned by Nico and Daniel Sackmann so must be a multi outlet family. The stube for dining was very impressive. Full of Black Forest charm and with great service by an Italian guy who was born in Germany. The schnitzels were excellent.

The hotel is fabulous, the people are amazing, the facilities in the Spa are extraordinary and for a family break it should be perfect….but….we had a break to meet our aged parents, who we had not seen, like so may others, in nearly two years. Because of timing my wife and I had to work for periods every day…..impossible. Modern thinking hotels, of this calibre, need to have fast internet in EVERY room and public space, this hotel cost us hours literally running around trying to get wifi signals so we could send and receive email. The local phone signal also sucks, but that isn’t the hotel’s issue, the lack of service for guests certainly is. We love the hotel, the people there are wonderful and it is quite simply the most relaxing place we have ever been, but they simply MUST sort out the internet or we cannot recommend modern travellers, both family and business, go there.

Welcometo the Romantik Hotel Sackmann in Baiersbronnin the wild and romantic Murgtal in the Black Forest.Connoisseurs will love the gourmet restaurant in our wellnesshotel and the pure relaxation a holiday in the Black Forest offers.
I would visit this hotel just for the spa, which is the nicest I have visited in the area. If not, just for the restaurant, which has two Michelin stars but deserves. The hotel has ample parking, a friendly staff and is located by a river, in a small village and near several walking and biking trails.

We spent two nights on the hotel. Free parking adjacent to the hotel. Indoor swimming pool. Cheap laundry service. Room was ok, clean and German styled. Beware the one-person rooms are small. Breakfast served at the table, not bad, plenty enough. Across the street from Restau Bareiss.

Hotel Sonnenhof, your hotel in Baiersbronn / Schönmünzach in the black forest! Top location in midst of a spa resort. 40rooms of exclusive furnishing, with balcony or terrace. Our high quality claim, which allows no compromises, promises special culinary delights for your taste buds. bus parking lots next the hotel.
I was lucky with my room on the upper floor facing the hill, but still light. The rooms on the lower floors facing that direction are quite dark. So go for a room facing the street - don't worry it is very quiet! As my fellow travelers reported, some rooms were a little run down. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and the food at dinner time was excellent. My biggest issue was the lack of reliable wifi and the lack of cell phone reception. It is great if you want and can go off "the grid", but unfortunately I had to stay in touch with family in the USA and that was really difficult.

We stayed 2 nights at this property. Although the rooms seem a little dated but it was charming nonetheless and the bed was comfortable. The heating was fantastic. The view from the balcony was also fabulous. The hotel's restaurant served excellent dinner and breakfast. Very homely cooking and reasonably priced. Will definitely stay here again if we visit Baiersbronn in future!
