At the Romantic-Hotel Zum Stern, the historical setting is just as authentic as our hospitality. Enjoy comfortable rooms and an awarded cuisine at the gourmetrestaurant L'étable and Stern's Restaurant. You find us directly at the Linggplatz in old town Bad Hersfeld. By car via Webergasse.
Unique and filled with history! Great unique hotel that’s over 600 years old with support pillars of 1000 years. Friendly staff and parking at the back for free and safe. My men arrived on their bicycles and they are also safe in the bike hold.

The Hotel Thermalis with 78 bright and comfortable cosy and light-flooded accommodations, 5 conference rooms and direct access to the thermal spa provides extraordinary experiences of well-being. Our hotel is located amidst of the spa gardens of Bad Hersfeld. Walking distance to our old town centre is about 10 minutes.
Bad Hersfeld "altstadt" is a pisttoresque city - and the hotel is only a short stroll from there. Beautiful park for a stroll. Nice for a stopover from Italy/France (if you live in Denmark) One good advice for this hotel must be to recognize the need for either to quit the evening buffet and declare that their "restaurant" is only for breakfast, or increase ambition/quality substantially. In other words - AVOID evening buffet/Restaurant Rossa.

6 of us stayed here whilst on business. We had 5 rooms as my husband was here. We all think the rooms were lovely and comfortable and the showers were amazing. We tried the breakfast one morning and it was good. Lovely friendly staff who always spoke to us (thankfully their English was considerably better than our (non existent) German).

The room was excellent, clean and spacious. Bathroom is fine and modern. My bicycle found a safe pace for the night in the owners garage and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. A bit less to choose from and an upping to upmarket would be great. All in all recommendable.

Stayed 2 nights here on a business trip and was really pleased with the Vitalis. All the staff we met were very friendly and attentive. I had a room at the front (4) which had great views over the city. The Hotel was a 5-10 min ride from the Train Station and Town Centre The rooms were large and very clean and comfortable and well appointed, the bed was comfortable and there was Tea and Coffee making facilities which is rare in Germany. The bathroom and shower were also very large and immaculately clean. The breakfast was served from 7am with a selection of Breads Cheeses Cold Meats, Fruits and cereals. Eggs Sausages and Bacon also on offer in a lovely dining room There is a fridge you can access with Bottled Wines, Beers, Soft Drinks and Water at very reasonable prices. I will definitely book to stay there again. A really nice place to stay!

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Modern well-kept and clean. Contains everything thing needed - perhaps except for the possibility for making a cup of coffee in the room. Good firm bed. Breakfast ok - something for everyone, but nothing extraordinary. Friendly and service minded staff.

The conference hotel with modern and light-flooded rooms offers you much convenience. Our ParkRestaurant with an open show kitchen and our "Tiroler Stube" invite you to enjoy. Conveniently but quietly located at the award-winning "Park of the seasons" in Bad Hersfeld. Walking distance to our old town centre is about 10 minutes.
Old style hotel , dating back to the 1960s and 1970s. Services are few, especially room services. There is no tea and coffee making facility. There is no mini bar and even the usual bathroom accessories such as soap, hand cream, toothbrush and other hotel services. The old hair dryer does not work. The value paid is very high for the services given. I will not come back here again.

Great location close to bars/restaurants, car parking available on street at night/weekends of there is the Alstadt Car Park close by which I think is about 8euros per night. Room was beautiful, spacious, well decorated, very comfortable bed. Bathroom has excellent shower and full size bath and there was a nice sitting area We did not have breakfast but there is a communial kitchen where there are a selection of items if required for additional 5.50 euros pp Only slight negative was that no-one to greet us on arrival We had to call number on the door and the gentleman answered quickly and gave me relevant code to gain access. As I did advise of my time of arrival perhaps an email from the B&B a couple of days before our arrival with access details may have been beneficial. Bit noisy in the morning as dustbins emptied, deliveries to local bars/restaurants but this is to be expected in a city centre hotel Overall would stay again as slept very well and facilities were superb

Every time I am in Bad Hersfeld I go to the Waldgaststaette Glimmesmuehle to eat fresh rainbow trout. They keep live trout in several trout ponds. The hotel is located on the outskirts of town with the forests as the backdrop, therefore the name......They also have a butcher shop there and sell the wonderful German cervelat wurst. The business has been in the family for several generations. Besides trout they also have other regional items on the menu, the ubiquitous schnitzel and other pork dishes, goulash etc, and also seasonal items such as white asparagus in the spring and chanterelles in the fall. Rainbow trout can be had in 3 cooking styles, such as 'blue', sauteed with almonds or smoked. It is accompanied by potatoes, butter and horseradish sauce. A mixed salad was a wonderful concoction of cucumber salad, a type of slaw and shredded carrots, all in separate little mounds on top Boston lettuce leaves with a delicious dressing on top. For desert I can never resist their 'rote Gruetze", which is a type of berry compote......called 'kissel' in Slavic countries. Service was very friendly and quick. The ambience is rustic with a middle class elderly clientele.
