Welcome to Graduate Athens - where your intellectual curiosity meets your favorite place to stay. Perhaps you've noticed we've made a home in the Foundry, where blacksmiths crafted famed works like the UGA Arch and the Double-Barreled Cannon. We're located near downtown Athens and just a short walk from the scenic and historic UGA campus. Our hotel has crafted the perfect setting for a wedding, company meet up and is the all-around smartest place to stay in Athens, GA. The Foundry, our music venue, was reimagined to honor the site's roots and to preserve this piece of Athens' fine past. The multi-tiered venue welcomes crystal clear views, stellar acoustics and a place to celebrate with craft brews, Southern eats and new artists. So, whether you're dropping in for a show, showing off the alma mater or attending a meeting here in town, we're here to make it memorable.
We stayed here as part of a 3 week road trip from the UK. Firstly, despite some negative reviews about the room, we found the room to be excellent. Comfy beds, good shower, quiet, spacious, parking outside, in short, no problems. However, we were required to leave a $100 'refundable accidental damage deposit'. It took over 2 weeks and several phone calls and emails to obtain this deposit back. The hotel blamed the card company whilst the card company blamed the hotel. Obviously, if the hotel didn't operate such a stupid policy, the problem would never have arose. Eventually, without help from the hotel, we did get the deposit returned. For what its worth, no such deposits were required from the other 6 places we stayed during our fantastic 3 week visit to the States. We asked the hotel for a small goodwill payment for our trouble. $10 would have been enough, the price of a couple of cups of coffee from their excellent cafe. Sadly, no $10 appeared and no reply to our request was received.

This property is always clean. The staff is always helpful. I have stayed at this property nearly every week for 1.5 years. I would stay any where else in Athens Melanie has a great team and is the most pleasant person I know.

Good hotel for the family. Had a large room with the sofa bed that also has a trundle underneath. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Breakfast was fine. Most things are wrapped but had bacon and scrambled eggs which was nice post pandemic. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Very small work out room with two treadmill and one climber. Not very adequate. Pool looked fine but mornings were cold so we didn’t try it. Overall decent hotel Overpriced during graduation weekend but all of them were

Stained bedding, stained and poorly maintained bathroom, room smelled like cigarettes, toilet kept making noise, could find other guests shirtless and shoeless walking hanging out in the parking lot, pretty noisy due to the proximity of the rooms to the parking. Will not stay there again.

I stay at this hotel regularly for work, and the amenities, staff, and atmosphere are all 5 stars and beyond. The rooms are clean, spacious, trendy, and the beds are very comfortable. Each time I visit I bring my dog, who is always welcomed as warmly as I am. It's very clear that this staff cares about four legged guests as much as they care about the two legged ones. Speaking of the staff- they are beyond welcoming, accommodating, and always make me feel well taken care of. Special shout out to Micayla who offered to take my dog for a walk during a hotel-wide fire drill so that he wouldn't be scared! What an angel. Those little things make the biggest difference! I always look forward to my stay with this hotel, and I highly recommend.

No problems with the hotel or staff itself but I am amazed more people are not talking about the difficult and potentially dangerous access to the place. If traveling from east to west you have to pass the hotel, make a U-turn at Heyward Allen Pkwy and then reverse direction. The hotel is immediately past where cars from Epps Bridge Pkwy are blending into Atlanta Hwy. As you are about to turn right into the parking lot those cars are barreling down on you. (Athens drivers are just as nasty and aggressive as Atlanta drivers.) We nearly had a wreck. They should have never built a hotel that close to that interchange.

Staff very friendly except for GM who seemed to be rough around the edges. Average rooms. Not well maintained. I stayed here 4-5 times through the years and have noticed significant west and tear of furnitures, carpets, etc. Last time I stayed 3 times over the course of a month to be with my mother who was in hospital because of Covid-19. She ultimately passed away from the disease. I attempted to negotiate an affordable rate with GM and he did not budge…wouldn’t even throw in parking for free even after I explained the situation and informed him I was low on funds due to unforeseen circumstances. I could not tell whether or not rooms were sanitized. One of the rooms had a fowl/stale smell. The last room was a two bedroom and we really liked it. However, the king room is very tight…not a lot of space between wall, desk, night stands and bed. There was a fire drill that woke us abruptly and had all occupants outside on street at 3 am the morning or my mothers funeral. Very unfortunate, but just glad everyone was safe and sound. Apparently. Some guests were smoking in their room. The walls are paper thin. The parking garage does not accommodate large/tall vehicles and vehicles with car too storage. Hotel is located to everywhere you want to be…food and convenience store and famous all within walking distance.

Front desk person was bored at check in; room was not too clean. Bathroom fixtures didn't work very well, toilet flusher was awful, tub barely drained. Breakfast was the worst we have ever had at a Hampton Inn!!! Eggs and biscuits were cold, no butter (they did put out a tub for everyone to use - YUCK!), coffee was lukewarm, and then they ran out. Homeless person in the elevator and one slumped in a chair in the breakfast area that the police had to escort out. Meanwhile, staff was acting like this was normal. And it wasn't cheap!!!
