Quite clean hotel with excellent breakfast 2.5kms from the town centre
Reviewed By 361KimDWe only stayed one night as part of our bicycle tour in Thuringia (Thüringen) so our "Brewery" rooms were chosen by the tour operator. As the name suggests there is actually an onsite brewery which they claim is probably the oldest wheat beer brewery in Germany, Naturally their beer is available in large quantities! The hotel-restaurant complex is 2.5kms from the town centre by car and 2kms by foot. The room was modern with comfortable double bed, desk with chair, armchair, minibar. TV and a computer tablet with hotel info plus internet access. WiFi was also available. No tea making facilities. There was a large cupboard with good storage space. The bathroom had a bath with shower. But no lift in this building. However "superior" rooms are available in a building with lift. Worth paying the extra if you have heavy bags! The buffet breakfast was exceptionally good in both the choice and quality of the food. (see photos). The hot food offered was bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and mini pancakes. We also took dinner in the Winter Garden which was very good, quick and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and apart from no lift, a very good hotel-restaurant indeed.

Basic, but not without style & charm

Stayed here for a stopover between Berlin and Southern Germany - Hotel Krone am Bahnhof turned out to be an o.k. cheapie (mostly, it seems, used by construction workers) - the buildiung is actually quite atmospheric, with a beautiful vintage wooden staircase. Setting is right next to the railway station, a 15 minute walk from the historical centre. Rooms were adequate for the price but really nothing special. The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. Good food, terrific breakfast, cozy setting. Add to this the friendly staff, and you could do a lot worse for your money.

Reviewed By qscofr1When I read economical I assume not will have many advantages but bath is out of room and other than towel was snabby(picture attached). Room I has been need to be clean better. I spend one night and it was enough. Breakfast was tipycal short version of German cold breakfast. It was included on price it means not so much complain for it.
