In Peru's second-most populous city, aka "The White City," stunning colonial buildings made of pearly sillar stone vie for attention with the surrounding volcanoes and snow-capped peaks of the western Andes. Founded in 1540, it's a smorgasbord of mansions and museums. The top attraction, 215,000-square-foot Santa Catalina Monastery, is like its own city within a city, complete with fountains and cobblestone streets. Arequipa is the favorite base for visiting Colca Canyon and its massive condors.

We really enjoyed our stay at Katari. The staff if super friendly, the decor is lovely, and the location can't be beat. We also LOVED breakfast on the rooftop. Delicious! The only downside was that we had a room on the top floor, near the entrance to the rooftop restaurant/bar, and it sometimes got noisy when people were going in and out of the restaurant upstairs.

This is the perfect hotel for Arequipa, 10 minute pleasant walk to City Center, and avoids all the noice and traffic at night. Quiet, beautiful garden grounds, great heated hot tub pool overlooking the garden is wonderful. We had massages, great breakfast, comfortable king size bed, balcony, so many great qualities about this hotel. The best part is Jean Louis and his team, they go out of there way to make us feel at home, taking care of every request and providing kind, caring service all around. There are many reasons why this is rated the #1 hotel in Arequipa, and the people who work there and provide the high quality service are the main reason. Don't stay anywhere else, this hotel can't be beat!

The staff was incredible and there for us with every request and question we had. They helped us with cabs and when I was dealing with a little altitude sickness. We loved that after a day full of hiking and sightseeing we could come back to the hotel to relax and use the smart tv to log into our Netflix. The food was delicious and the breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The grounds were stunning. Make sure you take a walk to see the alpacas and Juanita!

Casa Andina Private Collection Arequipa is raised on the old "Casa de la Moneda" (old Mint), a national historic landmark built in 1794, what makes our hotel more a living museum than a hotel. It's strategic location only a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa makes it the ideal choice for business and leisure travelers. It features 40 rooms - 100 % non-smokers, among an Imperial Suite and two Senior Suites.
This hotel was listed as a premium hotel but turned out to be a 3-star hotel at best. My wife woke up with a rash and bites on her body. The staff insisted that it was food allergy. We went to the doctor to confirm that it was insect bites. The hotel then reluctantly to change our room. We told that that they need to thoroughly clean the hotel and get rid of the mattress. They did not seem to care. I just hope that you don’t get the room/bed with bed bugs.

Our Casa Andina Select Arequipa Plaza is a great hotel, the third chain hotel in the city. With a excellent location, opposite the main square (Plaza de Armas) in the historic center of the city is the ideal place to get a great view of the cathedral. It has 58 comfortable rooms equipped with: air conditioner, great shower with plenty of hot water in 5 floors totally refurbished. Enjoy the free extras we offer like: buffet breakfast, room service, free wifi. With a modern and functional design, this hotel is the best option for those travelers who have an early flight because they can enjoy the time in Arequipa in our comunal áreas as our restaurant La Plaza Bar & Grill.
No faults with this property, I wish we had stayed longer! The location is excellent, the staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. The beds were comfy, but be sure to ask for a quieter room not overlooking the main square (we chatted with others who said it was very loud). While we didn't have breakfast, dinner overlooking the square was wonderful. The gym was very well equipped, which we were happy about. The only downside was that the pool wasn't heated. I would highly recommend and return if I ever find myself back in Peru.

I stayed at La Hosteria for 1 night when in Arequipa with my wife, infant son and father. The Hotel has a rustic charm to it and the room we got was quite nice. The location is also very good in the historic center of Arequipa. However, there were multiple cats in the common areas in the hotel which triggered a strong reaction of cat allergy. If this wasn't enough we also got an unwanted wakeup call at 3 am from reception that woke up our infant son and totally ruined the night.

A colonial hotel with 300 years of history.Hotel Casona Solar is a beautiful restored colonial gentleman’s house build in 1702 in the centre of the colonial city of Arequipa. Hotel Casona Solar has the atmosphere that Arequipa had in the 18th century. The thick walls are made out of the white volcanic stone Sillar and all rooms have the so typical high arched roofs and big doors that enter one of the two central courtyards. All rooms have modern bathrooms with toilet. In our bar we serve every morning between 6 AM and 10 AM a breakfast buffet. In our big garden you can enjoy the blue sky and the 320 days of sunshine that Arequipa offers year in year out. The average day temperature is 25 degrees Celsius and rain is rare. After a long day exploring Arequipa and the surroundings you can enjoy the cool mountain evenings at our fireplace while having a snack and a drink. On just a 2 minutes walking distance you will find the ‘Plaza de Armas’ one of the most beautiful main squares of Peru. Also the neoclassical cathedral, the monastery of Santa Catalina, the mummy Juanita and the typical colonial buildings in classical Spanish style are one step away. You can always see from every point in the city the perfect conic 5822 meter high volcano El Misti. In 1980 hotel Casona Solar recieved the title national momument by UNESCO and INC.
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Casona Solar. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly and incredibly helpful, and the overall service and experience was top notch. We had a fine breakfast in their beautiful garden. We would stay here again if we return to Arequipa.
