Good value in Ancud
Reviewed By scottfreeOzA good value and well situated place to stay in Ancud - much better value than hostels/hostals nearby. We had a light and spacious room overlooking the water and it had a kitchen, sofa and was very comfortable. Well worth checking out before you npay much more.

A friendly hostel, located in Ancud city in a traditional chilota house. It is the north gate of the magical Chiloe island full of traditions and unique mythology. We try to maintain a very home like feel in our Hostel and make the guests feel comfortable and welcome. We offer various tours and try to arrange the ones that we don´t offer.

Reviewed By TamsinbestWe had a relaxing few days here and felt right at home. Great location, opposite the bus station which was really handy. This hostel is immaculately clean in the kitchens rooms and bathrooms. This has excellent kitchen facilities which was a breath of fresh air. The beds are really wide and comfortable. Would stay again! We came just after the Penguins had migrated unfortunately so the town was a lot quieter which did affect the atmosphere.

Good Place to stay in Ancud. Not great, just good for the price
Reviewed By 700RudiPWe stayed two nights. The room was small, in the main floor, with a private bathroom, near to the breakfast room, but still quiet. The room was clean and warm (the nights in Ancud are fairly cold even in summer). Not a great place, just a decent one to stay when passing by this city. The parking lot is at the end of a step narrow parking entrance, and it was small and with no room after the one large tour bus and a couple of cars. The place has no attractions by itself and no restaurant. There is nothing to do in the hotel (except we saw people from the bus playing cards in the breakfast room), just to spend the nights and have breakfast. Breakfasts were good, not great with, tea, coffee, eggs, and some local breads and kuchen (a southern Chilean cake).

Reviewed By DiomediaThe hotel has a fabulous setting on the cliff top with splendid views across the bay to the islands off the north-west of Chiloé Island and mainland Chile to the north-east. The main town is to the south and a small beach with interesting houses to the north. Our room had a window looking west over the grounds and the bay beyond. The room had a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, a table with TV and armchair, in what was a relatively small space. The bathroom was also small. A built-in wardrobe was just inside the door. The buffet breakfast and food were generally OK.

New concept of Hostel Boutique, with beautiful landscape to the sea. Comfortable rooms, all with private bathrooms, heating, TV, WIFI, telephone. Cozy familiar atmosphere, managed by the owner. Breakfast, common kitchen and tour recommendations. Close to downtown.
Beautiful interiors & jaw dropping views with very welcoming staff

We had panoramic views of the sea and coastline from two enormous windows with two lovely modern chairs to watch the birds, the waves & dolphins. The building is a 5 star if it were maintained. Our room was spotless & beautifully decorated from crisp white linens to cream woven additions. However, the bathtub had been filled into make a shower that I know many people would not be able to climb up & into safely. We had record high temperatures & the room was warm. It also meant the doors to empty rooms were open and although smaller than our room, all were lovely with one big picture window on to the sea. There were 3 hot tubs on the deck below us with a missing safety rail & not accessible to guests - a shame. The biggest flaw is the breakfast. Coffee machine had old COLD coffee. There was instant on the table & hot water. “Fruit salad” was just inedible old & we suspected they blended leftovers for the “juice”. Meat & cheese on same plate so if you are a vegetarian - tough. 2 rolls each - no toast or eggs. They do provide warm milk, but sadly with some work on the breakfast this could be a much sought after hotel. They cater to groups that stop for one night. Parking available & signs all over Ancud make it easy to find. Little changes could make this Very popular with tourists and one of the better hotels in the region.

Right on the seafront, every room has a great view of the bay of Ancud. Our newly built hostel is just a two minute walk from the main square. Hostel Mundo Nuevo has a large garden area, seaview terrace, a cosy living room, a very well equipped kitchen plus central heating.

Reviewed By Jocelyn SGood location, free parking, excellent service, plentiful breakfast (cereal, juice, ham, cheese, good bread, fruit, coffee, tea). 10-mins walk from Cruz del Sur bus station down a steep hill to the sea and this b&b. Our large triple room was one of the best we’ve stayed in during our month in Chile. The guy on reception couldn’t have been more helpful or tremendously efficient. If paying with a credit card there is a 19pct tax payable; to avoid pay in cash. Regrettably the restaurant was only open for lunch Mon-Fri so we ate dinner down the road to the left at a small hotel/restaurant on the seafront,

Reviewed By Kaiser993We stayed at this place for a couple of days. It was a pleasant surprise for many reasons: first of all, all the cabañas were so spacious, the place is really clean and friendly. Definitely it was a great solution and accomodation in Ancud. We will be back in the coming future for sure!
