Enjoy a night of lively music in the plaza of this picturesque town or enjoy a stroll along the lakeside path. I stayed here with my family (4 people) to celebrate a birthday. Along with us as guest there were a corporate group staying at the hotel. The hotel staff were only worried about tending to the corporate group leaving the rest of the guests to fend for themselves pretty much. The hotel in general is very very old, it got stuck in the 90's, there is no air conditioning, however we were given a fan that didn't work properly. One day it was 5:00 PM and our room hadn't been cleaned. After complaining many times about this we were told the corporate group took preference. Our last night was horrible. The times for the pool are clear, the pool is closed at 9:00 PM (Or even probably at 8:00 PM can't remember), either way, it was 2 AM in the morning and people from the corporate group were at the pool, blasting music, screaming, laughing, not letting us sleep. I tried to contact front desk and it was a horrible surprise to find out they didn't answer. This hotel used to be the most luxurious best quality in Chapala, NOT ANYMORE. I would definitely advise you to go to the newer properties OR go to an Airbnb but NOT THIS!

My opinion is a beautiful place to relax. The villas are enormous. Good location and excellent breakfast. The villas are a bit outdated, the parking a bit of an inconvenience. The reception and check in needs improvement, training and education to their staff.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The view from the 3d floor room was incredible. Overall hotel is very peaceful. The restaurant's hours are a bit limited for us at 9-5 (off season hours?) No complaints about food or service. Meals were consistently good, large and delicious! The service was outstanding, and everyone was very pleasant. Very happy and comfortable vibe. Our room was lovely, clean and maintained well throughout our 2 weeks stay. Water pressure was good & hot water readily available. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is no elevator, but the staff was very helpful with our luggage. In fact, the staff was ready to help with all our requests and also arranged a tour guide, Alex, to take us on a several hour tour of the area. Highly recommend Alex!! Both the owner and the manager were available throughout our stay and each shared valuable information about Ajijic. We will be returning and highly recommend the 3rd floor!

A charming boutique bed and breakfast with 8 beautiful and unique suites. We offer the amenities of a 5-star hotel, along with friendly and personalized service. Hot breakfast is served on your private balcony or patio, or in the dining room overlooking the solar-heated pool and lush garden. The perfect location, just a few blocks from the town plaza, but on a quiet residential street. Relax...read a book...swim a few lengths in the pool. Do as much or as little as you want.
We stayed in November in the middle of a COVID lockdown. We were the only guests and it was like living in our own little house. I would of liked some company at breakfast, but the staff was great and catered to us like we were family. Great location to walk around Ajijic and good parking for our car. We will be back!

Very clean, comfortable hotel. Staff super friendly, helpful and fluent in English as my Spanish is very poor. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were upgraded free of extra charge to a spacious room on the second floor with Jacuzzi tub. Beautiful location with a short walk to the Lake Chapala boardwalk. Continental breakfast with wonderful selection of fresh fruit, bread and beverages included with the price (I recommend the Mexican coffee). Even had a ride in the owner/manager’s electric car to my lab appointment!

AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL Boutique Hotel in Ajijic. Eco-decor architecture and customized top-rated quality service
We stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days. It's very nice, very modern. I was skeptical about staying at first because they are containers. Yes! Containers! Very modern from the inside. Could have been better of the double beds where queens and not twins. It was a struggle sleeping with 2 kids and 2 adults. And the hot water in the shower took a while to come out. Besides that service was excellent and free breakfast every morning was ideal. Fruit, yogurts and fresh squeezed orange juice. They also have eggs and chilaquiles. Must stay here. My kids also enjoyed the pool. It was quiet those 4 nights.

La Ribereña is a beautiful villa in the shore of Lake Chapala, in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, where you can feel at your own house. We offer rooms for 2, and villas with kitchenette for 4 and 6 people. Our visitors get to enjoy the lovely sights of the mountains on one side and the lake on the other, and also get to enjoy one of the best weathers of around the world. Our rooms have LCD TV and DVD player, and we have DVD movies with no charge.
We booked a stay for 2 nights through Orbitz.com and upon check in we realized the pool was not working and was indeed a mosquito breeding pond. OK...I get it, sometimes properties undergo renovations but at least empty out the pool water? The biggest deception, however, was when we entered our room (2 pieces of large luggage, no elevator) and tried to work from our room on our laptops. No wifi. Guy at the from desk said wifi only worked in the common areas (they lie and say it works in the bedrooms but it doesn't) and well we deal with sensitive info/conversations so that was the deal breaker. Front desk guy spoke with the owner, who agreed to refund us all our money but now they are nowhere to be found by Orbitz to issue the full refund.

IS A 10th ROOMS BOUTIQUE HOTEL WITH POOL, RESTAURANT,GARDEN, SKYBAR AND PRIVATE PARKING LOT, LOCATED IN DOWTOWN , 4 BLOCKS FROM AJIJIC PLAZA, EVERY ROOM HAS THEIR PRIVATE BALCONY WITH AN SPECTACULAR VIEW. GOURMET BREAKFAST INCLUDED *FOR EVENTS TALK TO THE MANAGER*
While the staff here are lovely, I truly cannot understand why this place is so highly rated. The rooms have lots of bugs and no air conditioning. Its very hot in the area and you cant keep doors open with the bugs and the fan isnt enough. There is no elevator and by time you get to your room youre hot and tired. The property is not near the lake. You have to go up a huge steep hill to get back to the hotel. Ubers are not reliable in the area. We checked out early and left. I wish people would be more honest with their reviews. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it. Again, the hotel staff are incredibly kind and courteous but this placis not relaxing or comfortable. We didn't enjoy our time here.

At La Joya del Lago we offer: semiolimpyc swimming pool, ample gardens, laundy, free broad band internet access. It is located at 1/2 block from the lake in the best area of Ajijic.
After researching Ajijic extensively I decided to book at La Joya Del Lago. The pool and grounds photos were the deciding factor. I booked the hotel on booking dot com and received a confirmation. I reconfirmed before I left the States, but didn’t hear back. Left me feeling a bit doubtful. I think if you need contact with them you should definitely call directly. When my taxi pulled up I wasn’t so sure I made the right decision... and it seemed when checking in there wasn’t even a recorded reservation for me. Thank goodness it was a Sunday and all the Guadalajarans had already left after their weekend visit. There was a room for me, thankfully. You will need to speak some Español or at least have Google Translate on your mobile to help out here. After all, it is Mexico. She set me up in a pool room, #4. A slider opens up straight to the huge pool. Really nice! The room has a kitchenette with 2 burners, a few pots and pans, sink, some utensils, glasses, plates, mini coffee maker, full fridge, etc. Glad I brought a French press and a sharp chefs knife. The double mattress (good for 1 person, 2 thin people at best) was new and firm. Decent clean cotten linens. No complaints. There is a large tiled bathroom with walk in shower, and a whole storage/closet area. Off the kitchen is a table and chairs and a luv seat. There is no a/c here, only ceiling fans. I never felt as though I’d even wanted a/c. If you’re hot, go jump in the pool... it’s literally 8 feet from the door. The grounds here are beautiful and manicured. The huge pool is great for laps and kept clear and clean. Very nice! Lots of walking paths, fruit trees, flowers etc. There is secured parking just off to the side (inside)the property gates. It’s an older complex but very well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. There is a small mini market directly across the street, so picking up water and other small things is a snap. The walk to the town square is 1 mile on cobblestone streets, so if you’re not able to walk you may want to rethink a stay here, unless you’ve got transport, of course. Not many taxis roaming around to pick you up although the busses run by within a few blocks. My only complaint is there is a dog owned by a family on this street (there’s only one way in and out of this hotel) that would bark at me and be threatening to me when he was hanging out on the sidewalk. I think this is the first time I’ve ever had this issue in all my years traveling through wonderful Mexico. Surprising really. I felt the need to arm myself with a cobblestone everyday when walking by. I’ve been here a week without a serious incident. It just disappointing that my evening walks had to begin and end this way. All in all, this place is a winner if these amenities appeal to you. Would I stay here again? Yes, absolutely. Will I? No. I think the area has many accommodation situations to experience! I will certainly return to Ajijic...soon.
