Value for money, who would knew that a hostel would have provided a 3* accommodation. Room size typical of the city with the half price. All areas where throughout cleaned. The girl in the reception was very friendly. Το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα ειδικά για όσους θέλουν απλή διαμονή μέσα στην πόλη

I stayed three nights at the Thess Hostel. The entrance is colorful, and easy to spot on Agion Panton street. The hostel is in a good location for travelers: near the train station and the bus depot. It is a couple of km from central Thessaloniki and the harbor, but there are several buses available on Monasteriou, a nearby main street. The family that runs the hostel are helpful, and speak excellent English. My room had twin beds, a wardrobe, flat-screen TV, air-conditioner, small desk and chair. The WiFi signal was strong. A small balcony looked out over other buildings, and was useful for drying clothing/towels. The bathroom (shared) was tiled with large sink, bathtub/shower and toilet. There was also a shared kitchenette, with small refridge, hot plate, sink, a few pots, pans, plates and cutlery. Everything was clean. Although breakfast was not included, there was a local bakery a few doors along Agion Panton street which was open 24 hours and had superb bougatsas (a filled flaky pastry), crepes and other freshly-baked pastries. There was some noise from occasional trains, but the streets and trains quieted down at night. My bed was comfortable. The Salonica Mall (large multi-floor, lots of shops and large grocery store) was 750m to the west, an easy walk. The lobby of Thess Hostel had hot coffee/tea and cold drinking water available when it was open (most of the day). Bikes were available for rent. I thought it offered very good value for the price of a room.

Thessaloniki is a travelling crossroads, the place where Mediterranean sea is crossed with Balkan countries and West meets East. ‘Crossroads’ is located in a picturesque street of Thessaloniki, next to the Byzantine Walls, just 10 minutes away from the city center. Our guesthouse has been designed with love. A place for travelers who seek for hidden beauties and a good company.
There is a bus that heads to the city center for 2 euro; you want to get off at the main bus station and transfer to bus 32, Get off the bus at Akropoleos, and follow the street uphikkbrowarda the fortress..

Zeus Is Loose Hostel is definitely the coolest place you’ll stay at, this season. Overlooking an UNESCO World Heritage Site on one of the most vibrant squares of the city, it lives and breathes in downtown Thessaloniki. You get to sleep in 6bed, 4bed dorms, twin or double bedrooms. All rooms have their own en-suite bathroom on each floor for anyone who likes to sing in the shower.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hostel. It was clean and had a fun theme to the building. The internet was fast and the air conditioning worked well. It was also in a great central location that was easy to get to by bus. I would love to return here someday!

We stayed there for three nights. The owner was immediately, even before our arrival, very kind. The spacious apartment with terrace is in the center of Nea Vrasna. Perfect for families and, above all, pet friendly. Thanks to Dinos and his family for their kindness. We will meet again soon!

Little Big House is a modern guesthouse, perfect for travelers looking for a quiet refuge to relax, meet people and experience all interesting aspects of Thessaloniki, its rich culture, its colorful history, its relaxed day life and its vibrant never-ending nightlife. It is located in the most picturesque, quite and safe neighborhood - the centre of the Old City (Ano Poli) of Thessaloniki- and is easily found in a short walking distance from the city centre and from the most popular tourist sites. Everything began in 2005 after a travelling experience in Europe. Guided by our desire to provide travelers with a cozy place where they can feel like home, along with all the privileges of being hosted in a modern, clean and friendly environment we created our guesthouse "Little Big House" in Thessaloniki.
We did not book a room here, but were walking nearby and stopped for a drink and coffee and some nice time on their terrace. It was a cute little place with nice and friendly staff, great refreshments and prices. It was my favourite place in Thessaloniki!

The newest, cheapest way for families, groups and couples to enjoy Thessaloniki in hospitable, smart, self-catering studios that have everything you need - 15 minutes walk from the Thessaloniki Downtown (Ano Poli). Hotel accommodation at hostel prices! Brand new and just opened!
This was a great little hostel hidden in the upper part of Thessaloniki. We booked a private room with my boyfriend on two different occasions. Pros: Really huge air conditioned rooms (note: for non private rooms airconditioning is charged a few bucks extra), with faciities like a private kitchen and a lot of cutlery for cheap (19 euros per person). Very nice view of the city - the old town and the sea and port at a distance. It was especially nice to watch sunrise and sunset from there. The location is very nice and quiet - tons of cats, some old-timey buildings, stone streets, ruins etc if you are into this kind of stuff. It is pretty close to Aristotelous square too, though there are other hostels that are more central Also, the staff was nice and helpful - for instance, I forgot my glasses on my first stay and they kept them for me. There is also the opportunity to socialize with other people in the garden. Cons: It does require some uphill walking, which with luggage is tiring, but we did it the first time. Well, the second we took a cab from the city (3 euros),so it is really a minor thing. Another minor thing is that the bathroom did not have lights installed. Also, although this was not an issue for us, it is located in somewhat of a gypsy neighborhood. Overall, I would totally recommend it, just do yourself a favor and take a cab - cabbies now have gps devices so you can just tell them the address.
