The Hosteller Kasol, Kasol’s first hostel, is the perfect stay option for a backpacker or a traveller looking to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect. We believe in giving the best hospitality service by providing quality accommodation, great vibes and utmost focus on cleanliness, hygiene, safety and security of all our travellers. Located just 5 min away from the city centre towards Old Kasol and within a walking distance, we are in close proximity to the Kasol main temple, waterfall and right on the foothills of the mountains. Our neighbourhood is friendly, green and quite peaceful. The Hosteller offers clean and comfortable beds, attached WCs, free WiFi, common spaces, friendly front desk and concierge service, in-house dining and many more services. There is so much to do at the hostel like jungle walks, river trails, karaoke nights, beer-pong, etc. happening every evening. You’ll keep coming back for more! Whether you are here for a day or two or more, The Hosteller makes sure YOU don’t miss anything. Our best picks from all the to-do list in Kasol are: explore the villages, Manikaran & Chalal day tours, trekking (Kheerganga, Tosh, Malana), satisfy your taste buds with yummy Israeli cuisine etc.
We booked a private room at The Hosteller Kasol for Rs 3500/ night and the experience was very mediocre. The approach road to the property is a nightmare and it takes a lot of convincing to the taxi driver to drop you to the property's door step. Even when you get to the property, there are several steep steps to get to the hostel's entrance - this makes it especially dangerous for people returning back at night after drinking and smoking...which is the norm in Kasol. The private room was very small and felt cramped and claustrophobic. The black duvet cover and black towels they provide doesn't give you a sense of freshness and constantly makes you doubt the cleanliness. We did the Kheerganga trek organised by them and it was a poor experience. First we were informed that minimum 4 people need to sign up for them to organize the trip which will include a guide, tent accommodation and 2 meals, which is perfectly fine ...but in our case it was 16 of us with very different physical capacities and still only 1 and that too extremely incompetent guide (name: Gulshan Wawa) was assigned for such a big group. It is common practice to make 1 guide at the front and 1 at the end of a large group. Keeping this in mind, I and some of my fellow trekkers demanded a second guide. It took us a good 30-45 minutes on call to convince The Hosteller staff & the third party surrogate(the guide &camp provider) that we really needed a guide; who by the way we found at the starting point of the trek itself. We had to go off the first option as The Hosteller was not ready to pay him the same fees(Rs.2000/-) as the original guide(Gulshan Wawa). Somehow we managed to find a guide who was willing to go at a lesser price of Rs.1500/-And our second guide was much more responsible & professional, for sure. However, our guide Gulshan Wawa was extremely negative about my friend's ability to finish the trek just because of her weight and was indirectly discouraging her, was smoking up on the job and and himself kept falling and tripping on the trek. He charged someone to carry their backpack and then would forget the bags on his several breaks on the way up The food at the hostel was mediocre to poor and not cheap at all. There are better and cheaper homestays and local hotels in walking distance from The Hosteller. I see no reason to stay here again. Thanks for reading!

Our best picks from all the to-do lists in Bir are: exploring Mini Thailand, hiking to the Great Himalayan National Park, trekking to Serolsar Lake, checking out the local cafes, and getting to know the friendly locals.
I visited during mid April. Shoja is a beautiful small town just 20 mins from Jibhi. If you are in Jibhi, you could either stay there and visit Shoja by car/bus, or stay for a day or two at Hosteller Shoja. The hostel has nice clean rooms, and bathrooms, however is a little under-staffed. Food took a long time to get prepared. Sometimes they face water issues as well. Probably because Shoja itself doesn't have proper infrastructure for handling large volumes of tourists. Nevertheless the hostel has breathtaking views of the valley.

They provide the kind of hospitality you can't describe in words. They treat you like you're one of them. The ambience at house of Amigos is perfect for backpackers. I've never been in a hostel where Rooms were named after TV series. About the food- it's mouth watering and the prices are minimal. They have playstation in their common area along with many other Board Games including Jenga and Uno. You can also watch Netflix movies on a big screen TV. And yess, They do daily different activities for their guests. No hidden charges-nothing! If you're traveling for the very first time, I'd recommend you House of Amigos and nothing else in Old Manali. A huge shootout to Shashank for his hospitality. Keep up the good work Amigos?

This was fourth visit to Kasol. I always used to be confusing when choosing a place to stay as I make it as my base and wander around nearby places. I found perkup hostel to be at a very strategic location as it is about 2 kms from Kasol and you have to come through a beautiful trail by the river. I really loved it. There is always something happening in Perkup hostel that you come for a day and end up staying for at least a week. Best place if you want to enjoy it as a solo traveller or with friends.

It's Calm amongst the chaotic. With a mesmerizing view of the great Himalayan range on one side and Jogni falls on the other, we offer positive vibes in our cozy rooms. Located on the hilltop and the last spot of Old Manali, it's love for the trekkers, nature lovers and people who would like to have a peaceful time.
We wanted a good homely place away from crowd with great views for our long work-ation in Mountains and Stayers was just perfect. I stayed here for more than 3 months ( April-June, 20201), spent entire second lockdown from stayers, witnessed snowfall and rains both. My Work From Mountains experience can not get any better.. Views : This is the last hostel in old manali and situated at top most level and so the view is THE BEST and uninterrupted in entire manali. You can spot entire old manali, new manali, villages like Vashisht and Prini, Jogini waterfalls from just sitting in top floor cafe. It is like base camp to wide green meadows which is hardly 25 mins hike from hostel. Also this is best place in entire manali to witness snowfall. Rooms : I took private room with attached washroom. Room was very cosy, spacious and clean. View from the room window is just amazing to wake up to. Room have double bed, table, cupboard and basic facilities. Washroom have running hot water. They do have bunker and a cottage as other stay options. Food : They have cafe located at top floor serving all basic food, juices, tea/coffee etc. Anand bhai, Ronnie bhai and Panku bhai served us yummy food everyday for all these months ! Vibe : Very peaceful place away from crowd and any kind of noise. There's a small garden near entrance to play and table-chair setup for work as well. They have 2 cutest dogs, Simba and Amore and they're just the whole vibe. At night if the sky is clear, you can have great stargazing experience as well. Cafe have fun paintings, card games and many books to make you sit there and have fun with friends. Host : Anand bhai is an amazing host and now like a friend. Young guy always there for you to talk, play bluff, do cooking experiments and chill with you. He took us to many hikes around like meadows, jogini waterfalls, bijli mahadev and many more "not on maps" trails. Place connectivity : This hostel is 5-10 mins hike from famous rocky's cafe. Proper road and street lights are not available on this trail but that is what makes your stay experience peaceful and adventure all at once ! View is absolutely worth the hike and lost energy. Netwrok Connectivity: Internet connectivity is good. They offer wifi too. All phone network works here too. Overall, we had an EXCELLENT stay and without saying this will always be my home for many upcoming visits.

Pros: The sunlight in the morning would come to our room. The room is spacious. Good place for backpackers. The host was helpful - for example, provided us with an electric kettle once requested. The dog was extremely friendly I loved him. Nice rooftop restaurant, Enjoyed having tea. Cons: Good place for backpackers and hostellers but not recommended for independent rooms. Overpriced for a couple's bedroom. More amenities should be offered with that price such as at least an Electric Kettle. We came in December and the temperature used to drop down to minus 4/5 at night. The curtain is made of extremely thin fabric, which did not help with the cold. Since we travelled during Covid the blanket had no cover so I think there is no way they could clean/sanitise it. If there is a cover they could unwrap it and wash it which makes it safe for the guests as well. When I am paying this much for an independent room I would expect such services. Another incident that happened, that one of the owner came to our room in one morning (2 days before our checkout) and insisted that today's our day to check out. My partner tried to tell her we have already paid for 4 nights and the young owner continued to insist that she is pretty sure that we are the people and requested to come with her at the reception. It was immature of her to ask a guest like this. She should have checked once more, but she continued to insist on us which was unprofessional and amateur.
