The stay was pleasant overall. The overall environment is nice where you can feel that you're close to nature and the surroundings are quiet when it comes to night. The main barrier closes before midnight but, is left unlocked. So, if you ask me about security, during the duration of my stay, nothing has happened. The little chalet style stay is great but, having a small lane into a few chalets can be a bit tight for bigger cars and the place owner must enforce the rules a little more by making sure that cars are not allowed to park in the pathways. They told me I cannot park at the parkways which I played by the rules but, when I came back from dinner and there is a car parking in front of the chalet that I'm staying in. The room is alright, spacious but, could be cleaner. A little renovation is needed here and there. Other than that it's okay.

The entrance is hidden and it just next to Plan B. It’s just in the heart of the hipster hangout at Kong Heng. Walking distance to all the tourists attractions at Ipoh Old Town. Love this place as it’s very rustic and modern as well.

A 5 stars boutique hostel furbished with garden and plants for every dormitory yet a transformation of luxury but affordable hospitality concept located in the core of the city, walking less than 10 minutes able to go to most of the facility such as shopping mall, ATM, Laundry and night club.
Really great hostel! Everything felt very secure and safe, locks for each room and getting into the hostel. Shared kitchen area which was nice to be able to cook our own food. The bathrooms were clean and big! We had a double bed in a shared room, the bed was very comfortable and they’re not bed bunks so it was nice not having a bed above or below you. All staff were very friendly and a huge common area which had films playing on one TV and the news on another TV. Would really recommend.

They charge exorbitantly for such a lousy place and do not deliver according to the price they have robbed you with. It was a sheer waste of money! The rooms were ancient & quaint looking. There was a strange unpleasant odor in the room. They were not clean either. Bath room was smelly, had no hot shower, leaking tap, and no exhaust. The TV was non functional despite fiddling with the remote. Probably it was only to show that a TV is in the room. There was no WiFi as claimed in their advert, neither in the room nor in open area. They shamelessly lied about it. Similarly, the air-cons. were unable to be controlled. The only one remote was non functional, so the air-cons were fixed at some pre-set cooling temperature which we had to bear with!. The towels provided were wet as if someone had used them already. There were no tea bags or coffee sachets provided which would've not cost a fortune to the stingy owners. Only a water boiler was there. There were mosquitoes in the room despite the door was closed all the time. No spray or repellent was provided despite the high charges. The place was also noisy and guests who stayed here in a hope to spend some peaceful time were unable to do so. Those uncivil Malaysians who were only a wooden wall away kept on shouting until late at night. The owners had done nothing or are least bothered, to keep this place peaceful and quite, at least after certain hours! The owners had meanly tried to save money on small things as if they will get rich by not providing those facilities. But that shows the poor quality of service they are giving to their customers at the cost of saving a few ringgits! Really stupid of them! During the rain the ceiling of the room started leaking including the bath room. One of the bed-sheets got wet so we had to squeeze ourselves on one mattress & could not sleep properly. The Chinese owners of this chalet have no sense of professionalism. Despite informing them of our arrival, they were not available at the premises. We had to send numerous messages & calls to get their response. Even after the long tiring journey, we still had to wait, for quite some time, for these uncouth owners just to get the keys of our pre-booked room. The worst customer service ever. They are basically rude and disrespectful to their customers. The place also is not secure as the main gate is wide open all the time and anybody could walk in any time at night. We did not feel safe during the night here. They have falsely claimed those facilities in their advertisement but in reality they do not exist. This is called cheating. Such people should not be in service industry. They don't know the meaning of it. Conclusion: This place is not worth the stay. Better stay elsewhere. There are other much better and less expensive places to stay with much better customer service, in Ipoh!

Stayed here for one night. The hostel was great - really quirky with lots of different cool hang out areas and very friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend! Mattress was super hard though hence 4 stars out of 5.

What was good: Wonderful hosts, who really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Introduced us to good food locations and actually took us out in their family car to the more exotic late night food places. At the end of the trip, it was bittersweet as we had made close friends. Space itself is spartan, simple and clean. Don't expect 5 star luxury at this price, lets be realistic. But suggest you communicate your needs to the hosts and they should accomodate. They bent backwards to handle a special request we made and were super flexible. Location location location. EDM Space is walking distance of great food locations. Right smack in the middle of the city. Unusual Outdoor Rain Shower. They have an outdoor open shower on the roof top. Pretty private space. Water is clean and it is fun to shower in the noon day sun or moonlight. What wasn't so good: Simple accommodations mean just that. If it is the peak season you might be placed in a simple partitioned space and sleep on a Japanese style futonon the floor. So ensure that you contact the hosts and be specific with your needs and also be willing to pay a bit more for a more private space. Bulk of accommodation are upstairs, and if you don't have good knees it could be a problem. But again, these are more affordable accommodations and perhaps aimed at a segment of the population that is more nimble (and ahem, younger). Potential for theft, ensure that you get a locker key and store your valuables in them. In summary, an excellent experience, a great price, and well worth a visit again.
