Abundant wildlife above and below the waves draws eco-tourists to Ecuador's Galapagos. Get up close on a stroll or in a Zodiac boat. Snorkel and dive with denizens of the deep, from sea lions to sea turtles at Santiago's Cousin's Rock. Hike by finches, flamingos and iguanas along the Darwin Trail. Admire Sierra Negra Volcano on Isabela. As visitor numbers are limited within the islands' National Park, book your boat tour through a tour operator. Visit January through April for the best snorkeling.

Hostal familiar con 12 habitaciones, terraza, desayuno incluido y wifi gratis.
We stayed there for a week, wanting to discover San Cristobal on our own and on a budget. For about 40$ a night, it was exactly what we needed. The room was spacious and clean. We had a view on the sea through the balcony and on the rooftop patio. Bedding and towels were changed every other day. The location was good, just a few streets of the Malecon. Staff were eager to help. Tivi, AC, storage, hangers, clean water and 2 kitchens to prepare our food.

Very nice hostal, modern, very clean, very confortable room with all you need. 5 minutes walking from the center. Let's go to the negative point. The director Philip, was not really a nice person, not at all available for the needs of the guests. The first night I realized that the light of my room was not warking. I text Philip to repair it. He came 1h after and told me it was late, that he will have done it the day after. The day after nothing was done, I text him again and he proposed me to change the room. I told him that, as it was evening, I could keep the same room, but I asked him to repare it the day after. The day after again nothing was made......3 days to repare it, nothing was done. Finally I asked to leave the room just 1h later, a courtesy in exchange of the technical problem.....and the answer was NO. But I have to say that his mom was very nice with me (but not with the very kind housekeeping), the let me use the kitchen to cut some fruits and she offered me some delicious fruits of its Finca.

Anchored in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Isabela Island is a dream destination for nature lovers. The sandy streets of Puerto Villamil welcome the traveler like no other place in the Galapagos – or the world, for that matter.La Posada del Caminante invites you to rest in its quiet surroundings. Relax on a hammock, enjoy seasonal fruits and a cool drink under the gazebo. Our spacious rooms will accomodate families, couples and backpackers. Our typical equatorian family-style lodging is complemented by friendly tourism services. We can help you organize the tours around the island that suit you best: a slow walk on the beach, hiking to the Wall of Tears, visit to the giant Galapagos turtle reserve, various levels of treking on the different volcanoes, snorkelling with sharks, bird watching, etc.
We stayed more than 2 weeks on the Galapagos and this was our favourite place. It is simple but has everything you need (including a private equipped kitchen and free laundry service). Lauro the owner is very sweet and can help you organise the volcano tour and high quality bikes! The hostel is easy to reach by foot and it take 5 minutes to walk to the beach! We highly recommend this place:)

I loved my 5-day stay at Hostal Cattleya. Ivan and Trudy are the nicest most friendly hosts! My room was comfortable and I liked that it was on the top floor near the breakfast area with perfect views of the bay. Tasty breakfast that varied from day to day, keeping in mind different travelers' dietary needs. Highly recommended!!

Galapagos Native, is owned by a native, traditional and pioneering Galapagos, descendants of one of the first settlers of Isla Santa Cruz family. It is managed directly by the owners. It offers excellence in our professional service will make your stay in an atmosphere of harmony and tranquility; have the opportunity to enjoy the island's warmth with the gentle care you deserve.
BEWARE, DO NOT STAY HERE !!!! - Concrete drilling contruction underway, CRAZY NOISY! Can't hear yourself think let alone anyone you're trying to speak to at reception. Scratch off 'relaxing' from your to-do list right away. - No hot water! I was told to wait 20 mins for the hot water to start running. Did just that, no dice. Stay here if you love your cold showers. - No refund policy. For the reasons above I will be transferring myself elsewhere, and these crooks will keep almost $200 of my money. - At most one staff member speaks any English and works at the restaurant next door, not the hotel, so she can't directly help you with your reservation or room etc. Consider yourself SOL if you have any issues and don't speak Spanish. Also their reception is open, what? 8am - 6pm and otherwise good luck finding someone who works here. I get this isn't a posh 5-star hotel but for $75/night I expected much better. The bathroom doesn't even have any amenities like soap, shampoo or toothpaste, but I'll chalk that up to the islands'conservation efforts. Overall an incredibly disappointing experience, don't know how they have a high rating. One star for no cockroaches or having anything stolen (yet!). Do not recommend. -

Hostel which offers family suites with kitchen and dining area; double and twin rooms with shared kitchen. It also has an indoor pool, sale of souvenirs and organic coffee produced in Galapagos. The hostel is located next to a park with playground, a clinic with hyperbaric chamber, 2 blocks from the Charles Darwin avenue where you can find ATMs, galleries, restaurants and bars overlooking the sea. Just 15 minutes away is the center of the Galapagos National Park and the beach "La Estacion".
The price is right. The location is perfect, close to the Charles Darwin Center, grocery, laundry, nice little restaurant and the main city center. But we picked the cheapest room and it was awfull. Dirty. Strong smell. No window. Very noisy. We’re glad we saved money but we could have had a slightly better room. There’s a pool (we didnkt use) and the staff are always willing to help.

We stayed here for our 3 night stay on San Cristóbal. We couldn’t have asked for more, the stay was perfect. Alfredo is the best hostel owner we’ve come across in 4 months of travelling. We were initially a bit worried that the property was about 2.5km out of town (20-30 min walk). However Alfredo is always available to drop you into town free of charge and it’s an easy and cheap ($2) to get a taxi back. He is also extremely helpful with any trips or boats you need to organise. The room was super clean and was cleaned everyday with a a change of bed clothes. Our only regret was that our Spanish wasn’t good enough to have more of a conversation with Alfredo and his family. I highly reccomend this place. Thank you Alfredo and family for such a lovely stay!

A small gem on Isabela! We stayed here a week, enjoyed the top floor room with large, screened windows, great view, amazing breakfasts (included) and very friendly staff! Fan, AC and wifi (albeit slow) all work well. Very clean and an easy walk to anywhere for food, beach, tours and bike rentals. The port is also an easy 15-20 mins away on foot and also leads to Concha Perla for snorkeling or just hanging out among iguanas and sea lions. Jonathan, is the chef in the restaurant and we became fast friends with smiles and greetings every time we met. He even hauled up one of the big water cooler sized bottles of water for us one evening when the water was shut off in the area for some repairs to pipes. Sun Island is right beside Coco Surf on the main street and anyone can help you find it. This is a great choice for breakfast and we had an amazing lobster dinner there one night. Stop in, say hello, stay in a comfortable, quiet, clean place and do try the food as an alternative to the more often reviewed restaurants. It's a worthwhile experience!
