Thailand's fast-growing capital is a city of contrasts. Feast on amazing Thai food in shabby markets for lunch and sip on cocktails in a glitzy rooftop bar several hours later. Marvel at the buzzing alleys and temples of Chinatown and Banglamphu, then take a tuk tuk to Siam, where luxurious shopping malls await. It's these contradictions that make this vibrant city a magnet for tourists from all over the world, each of them promising themselves to come back again and again.

We, “Matchbox Bangkok Hostel”, located Sukhumvit33, are the provider of co-living space (Hostel) in the heart of business, hangout and nightlife areas of Bangkok. It is most convenient to travel to or from other areas of the city by using BTS sky train or MRT (subway). Our rooms “the Box” are provided with clean and comfortable conditions at an affordable price. Welcome you with thai smile :)
Seeing other reviews, not sure if it has all changed or they had bad luck. Air-con was on with me at all times. There is a common area, but yeah there’s mostly local people or other Asians and not much interaction. That being said, it’s really clean and beds are good. I would stay again

At Hua Lamphong Hostel is an ideal hostel to start journey in Thailand. A hostel is right opposite to a train station and next to subway station. With our facilities and comfort, customers will start their trip with happiness.
My family opted to stay in this hotel for about 1 week. The hotel is situated in very convenient location: MRT station is right in front of the hotel ( u see the exit to” Bangkok Centre Hotel” on your arrival at the Hua Lamphong station, select this rather than looking for Hua Lamphong Hotel itself as this hotel is a small hotel while Bangkok Centre Hotel is a bigger one just nearby). When u look at the map visible inside MRT train, u can see the railway symbol above the name Hua Lamphong station. Yes, railway station is just on the opposite side of our hotel: cross the road to get there. But it seems that such railway station is mainly for travelling to locations outside Bangkok. If u want to travel anywhere from the hotel, u can go by MRT, tuk tuk( with many tuk tuk waiting in front of the hotel usually), even motorbike taxis or taxi... Seven- eleven convenient stores are everywhere in Bangkok and it’s not exception to this hotel. We can buy ice to keep in water bottle for long day travelling from 7-11. My kids love Meji Milk from this store. Starbuck is also nearby. I see many foreigners stay in this hotel. The hotel has been operational since 2009. The lift is quite slow as per comments by many other reviewers but we can walk using stairs instead. If u dont like this hotel someway, the nearby hotels are Metro Hotel, Bangkok Centre Hotel...

I quit singing in 2015 after done that for 14 years. I love being on stage and entertain my audience but it’s time to try something new. I always dream of having a guesthouse with a little cafe in it. One day I found the first house by the end of the alley of Sukhumvit 16 street and I love it right away. 4 years has passed and now one more home has been found in just 50 steps away. I put all my energy to create this home away home for travelers. I was so excited when my first 3 guests from Korea walked in asking for a room while I was cleaning the kitchen floor at 10 p.m. From then, I’ve serve many people and they become my friends and family until now. After 2 tough years of Covid-19, I've decided to change the name from Hostel16 to Home16 as it's how I make my guests feel at home. Home 16 is a very cozy townhouse with big tree. Very easy to go around as it’s located only 10 mins walk to BTS and MRT. I’ve provided all you need for your stay. You’d enjoy fresh coffee and free breakfast (especially my home made yogurt & jam) Cozy private rooms are also available here. Once a week I’d cook different kinds of food or make BBQ and share together with all my guests. Home 16 is a house for friends and family come together, and I look forward to you to become part of us.
This is one of those rare places where you instantly feel like at home, or at a close friend's place, with a host welcoming you like if you're family. Cosy, warm, calm, green, are the first words that come to mind when you pass the gate. And finding that in the center of Bangkok is a real luxury: close to everything. Absolutely recommended!

The hostel is in a great area, very close to the skytrain, 7/11, shopping centres and restaurants. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and Covid-19 is taken very seriously. The staff was so friendly and they helped me with everything and gave such good tips- i feel like they really care for their guests. Best hostel i have stayed at!

This hostel is perfectly situated In the silom area, near to the bts, metro and river so is easy to get around bangkok. It is also close to many shops, bars, clubs and markets but away from any outside noise. Warm window has a warm, friendly atmosphere and on the ground floor, has a cafe perfect for chilling and food is available 24 hours. On the first floor there is another chill out area with beanbags, tv and computer with WiFi which is free to use. The hostel also has a roof terrace which gives some amazing views, there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer on the rooftop terrace which is available to use for a small fee. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and each bed has its own light, power socket and curtain curtain privacy. Each bed also has its own locker for storing luggage and valuables. Each floor has its own toilet/shower room, again spotlessly clean and has hairdryers and ironing and ironing board available for use. The price per night which was very cheap also included a free breakfast every morning. The staff at the hostel were all girls and they were very welcoming, smiling and helpful. They would always greet you a good morning and good night and would always help willingly with any queries about bangkok. This is the best hostel I've stayed at in thailand and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to bangkok

The House of Phraya Jasaen is formed from seven antique shophouses remodelled to create a boutique hotel with an individual and friendly style. Each of the rooms is designed in an individual style, with creations that have given full reign to the imagination of the designer, whose intention has been to delight hotel guests and to ensure they leave with the fondest memories of unique experience
I stayed two nights in the King Suite room at The House of Phraya Jasaen and was overall disappointed with my stay. Here is a list of my problems at this hotel… Shower water temperature kept fluctuating between warm and cold. Windows facing the street are only single-pane, and there is a lot of street noise outside. No safety box for valuables. For a room accommodate 3 people, counter area around bathroom sink is very limited… little space to put toiletries. Towels are very thin and cheap. I was initially thinking to give this hotel 3 stars, but they lost one more star upon checking out when the front desk person ran up to our room and came back with a wash cloth that she claimed had to be replaced because it had too much of my wife’s make-up on it. So she insisted we pay an additional 100 baht to replace it… really tacky in my opinion.
