Whether you’re exploring Vermont’s covered bridges, visiting Quechee Gorge or skiing at Killington, you’ll find Vermont to be picture-perfect. If you’re the outdoorsy type, you’ll love Vermont. In winter, of course, there’s plenty of skiing and snowboarding. In the warmer months, however, Vermont offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and boating. If you enjoy boating, swimming and fishing, a vacation rental on Lake Champlain might be perfect for you.

On a whim, considering a little birthday wish my daughter had been hoping for, we called LaJoie. I didnt even leave a message, bc I figured there was no way we could get a same-day reservation. A lovely woman called me right back and said, I think we can squeeze you in. Within a few hours, we were hopping onto the backs of the sweetest horses, led by an even more fantastic guide (Hayley) and just overall had a once in a lifetime (for us city folks anyway) experience. My daughter was beside herself with happiness and we all felt as if we all had the most special vacation memory by riding horses peacefully through the Vermont woods for an hour. We saw some deer and wild turkeys to round out the animal experience. The cool all woman team running Lajoie are very professional and we would go back in a heartbeat. I highly recommend a ride at LaJoie.

If you are a horse lover Friesians of Majesty is a must visit. My Fiance and I road tripped to VT for a New Year's weekend and decided to take a sleigh ride at Friesians of Majesty farm. While the weather tried to do its best to spoil the trip with less than idea snow touring the farm would have made the trip a success even if we hadn't gotten the sleigh ride at all. I mean come on, where else can see nearly 100 Friesians on one farm including the #1 rated stallion in the world. Bob is a real host making you feel like you've known Bob for years and the fact that he knows all of his horses by name shows that his relationship with his horses is real and mutual. See ya soon Bob! jhj

My husband and I booked a trail ride. When we got there the staff already had the horses saddled and ready to go. The trail was beautiful, shaded through the woods. The horses were incredibly easy to ride, they were well trained and led the way without any direction.

D-N-D Stables offers more than just your typical nose to tail, follow the leader trail ride. We offer riding for all levels of riders. At D-N-D, we take the time to get to know our riders and try our best to customize/personalize each ride. D-N-D Stables is located right at the owner’s home and the horses all belong to the owner, who accompanies every ride. This allows her to personalize and match horse and rider. You’ll enjoy a leisurely ride on well-trained horses and the horses get to graze along the way and we stop along the trail to allow for photo ops. Our small size allows for us to take the time to give novice riders some instruction before we head out for the ride and some helpful hints along the way. More experienced riders will find they get to ride their mounts with just some helpful tips about the horse they are riding. At D-N-D Stables, you are more than just a passenger, you are a rider!!

I cant say enough about what a wonderful experience my husband and I had this morning. While the weather did not cooperate, the ride was still magnificent. These are truly wonderful animals cared for by a great team of people and the ride could not have been more enjoyable, rain and all. I only wish we had the opportunity for a longer ride. A don't miss stop on your travels through Vermont.
