The Alexis Forel Museum offers more than 700m2 of exhibition space in a 16th century house with an Italian-style interior courtyard, where old colonnades, doors, stoves and fireplaces meet contemporary works. Founded in 1918 by Alexis and Emmeline Forel to present their collections of furniture, ceramics and above all prints, the museum nowadays gives a prominent place to varied temporary exhibitions, artistic or historical, which mainly revolve around regional heritage, prints and cinema. The lithographs of David Lynch, the works of Albertine and Germano Zullo, Martial Leiter, Schauenberg, as well as the figures of Peter Ustinov or Capucine, and the Morgian artists of yesterday and today, have adorned our walls. We offer between three and six temporary exhibitions per year, detailed information on which is available on our website. A rich collection of icons from Russia, as well as the collection of Dream Boxes made by Marie d'Ailleurs are permanently visible.

This is a beautiful medieval castle, really interesting for whoever wants to learn about medieval history. As far as I heard lots of new events will be organized later on in this castle, but for the time being visit is essentially based on the building itself, which is really impressive! Having a coffee after our visit at the lovely coffee-shop set in castle premisses with a wonderful view over the lake is really a great ending to our afternoon!
