The dreamy island that provided inspiration to Chopin and Miró now has a reputation as a spring break beach destination. Don't worry, though, if you're vacationing over elementary school spring break-- there's plenty for the younger crowd. Marineland's dolphin and sea lion shows and children's beach attract families. And if you have a Thomas-obsessed toddler, the antique train that travels between Palma and Soller is a must-see.

Enjoy your time in the outdoors with a brief introduction to the history and culture of Mallorca told by a local guide. Test yourself to hike for a few hours and grab a bite to eat in one of the most idilic sceneries of the island. Explore the nature around you and share your feelings with the rest of your group mate and laugh out loud. If there is one hike that combines nature, history and amazing views, that is, the Archduke’s path in Valldemossa. Ludwig Salvator from Austria built this when he moved to Mallorca in late 19th century. While all the paths had a commercial purpose, this was purely scenic. Therefore, Archduke Ludwig Salvator became the first naturalist to explore the Tramuntana By the end of the tour you will be renewed!

Fernando is a great host with a lot of experience. He lives in the village and seems to know all the locals. He does not only know the way, you also get a lot of interesting stories about the area. From the history and the present time... Fernando is a licensed, very professional hiking guide (MTB too) and he is very friendly. We finished it off with a few local beers in the Underground pub.

You will immerse yourself in the history, mysteries and fun facts of this community that lived in Palma de Mallorca before and after their exile or conversion up to the 20th Century. It’s a round tour that begins in “plaça Santa Eulàlia” and finishes at the same place. We will deal with different terms used to describe places, customs, religion and the society of the Hebrew community of Mallorca. During the Middle and part of the Modern Age, in Palma there were two calls jueus, that refers to the Jewish Quarter of the Aragon Kingdom. The main subject will be the Hebrew community in Mallorca from its beginnings until the first half of the 15th Century when their definitive Christian conversion took place or their exile to safer lands, where they could start a new life. Furthermore, we will talk about the life of the converted descendants (also called xuetes) within Mallorcan society up to the current Hebrew community of the Balearic Islands.
Inclusions: Guía oficial de las Islas Baleares
Exclusions: Coffee and/or Tea

Mallorca is quiet in the year of COVID-19, but I wanted my partner to see some of this beautiful island. We hired electric bikes from the team at Call & Ride and they were great. Fun, funny and very helpful, we were mounted on our electric bikes with instructions on how to use them (and, by the way, they are amazing) and navigate the roads and bike lanes of Palma. Within 10 minutes we were on our way around the city and Palma Bay. Thoroughly recommend these guys. Inexpensive, open late and just plain accommodating. Give them a go.
