Emailed the night before to confirm pick up. Picked up from hotel by electric buggy and taken to ferry. Crossed the Mekong and then 20-30 minute drive in the back of a pick up all part of the adventure getting there. The waterfall at the park had dried up as it was the dry season but we had been forwarned about this. Excellent safety briefing and then 1 to 1 instruction on the zip lines. We were the only ones in the first group of the day. Equipment all relatively new and European manufactured. Both instructors were humerous spinning round and zip lining upside down but always focused on our safety. Some nice long lines and a twin line which gave us some good photo opportunities. Only down side of just 2 in the group is we didnt have to wait for anyone so in 40 minutes we had completed the course. We had a cool drink and a wander around the gardens before being taken back to the ferry. We asked to be dropped off in the centre of town not at our hotel and the guide facilitated this. A good half day adventure. Recommend.

We are Wander Spot Explore and we came to Manifa Elephant Camp and Lodge for couple days only but instead spent almost a week there. The place is fantastic! Staff was super helpful all the time, food they provided exceeded our expectations and I could not even talk about how great the view from our lodge was. Meeting the elephants walking through your lawn near the pool in the morning was something insane. Never expected to see so many and so well taken care of animals in whole Southeast Asia. On top of staying in one of the nicest resorts in Luang Prabang, we got to bath elephants in Mekong, visit their camp where Mahout family is taking care of them, also, a chance to go into nearby Pak Ou Caves after which we just chose a random Mekong island and got an insane BBQ there with a fire and even table brought from the resort. There are more activities, but in order to do them all you need more time, for instance during dry season you can also go kayaking. The only hard thing I encountered was that not everyone speaks English well and sometimes you need to wait or double check if they understand you correctly. But the staff is very helpful and always treats the visitors with so much care. You can always use translator if you really need to. Apart from that I hated only mosquito who were bothering me just after sunset, but it is a superb resort in middle of beautiful and green nature by the river of Mekong, what can you do about them.. For more photos and stories visit our instagram or facebook. We will also include this place in to our bucketlist on our page as this is definitely a must visit place if you are in Luang Prabang!

Casting aside one’s prejudices of what defines a country’s capital is fairly easy when arriving in Vientiane; Laos’ government and administrative centre just doesn’t fit in this box. Yet, this also highlights the uniqueness of the country’s largest city where life seems to move at a slightly more relaxed pace. Added to the fact that there is more than meets the eye, you will touch the essentials of locally vibrant, yet truly Laos’ contribution to the world’s capital list. From enigmatic temples to dashing street-side examples of somewhat unhurried lifestyle, Vientiane leaves a lasting impression as a truly charming destination.

Nothing special really. If you have been to Halong bay in Vietnam, this artificial lake is nothing. However, if you are in Vientiane, Laos and have a free day it is worth a visit. The trip takes you to the countryside across rice farms and various plantations. A stop at a scenic hydro electric power plant to take a snapshot of a nice view infront of the water locks is recommended. Then on arrival at the lake, you stop at a small jet to take an hour boat ride. Various sizes boats are available. The prices are so cheap. You take a fairly good size boat for an entire family for 150,000 Kip. You pay slightly more for a boat with a toilet onboard. This is for an hour long ride which is so relaxing. You can order lunch and have it on board whilst slowly cruizing around this huge artifial lake. Recommended if you and family or group of friends have a free day whilst in Vientiane, Laos.
