Remote Bhutan first allowed the world a peek inside in 1974. With four millennia of habitation, the Himalayan kingdom offers a trove of archaeological treasures, including many ornate temples and dzong fortresses. Isolation has preserved the heavily Buddhist-influenced culture of the last Shangri-La.

The Kingdom of Bhutan is a landlocked country in the Eastern Himalayas and South Asia comprised of mountains and forests. The country is called by its people “Druk Yul”, meaning “The Land of The Thunder Dragon”. Trekking in Bhutan is dissimilar from other regions in Asia. You are trekking in a country steeped in Buddhist traditions, culture and mountains. Bhutan Himalaya is covered with a forest shrub. There are a lot more flora and fauna than anywhere else in this region. There are fewer villages in the high mountains. Trekking there does not require any special technical skills. You will have opportunity to challenge yourself, relax your mind, immerse yourself in nature and local culture, also have a good night ‘s sleep under the stars. I visited Bhutan through this company in early March 2020. Mr. Phuntsho of the company had been very prompt and helpful in organizing the trip. He kept the itinerary flexible which allowed me to spend more time at places I loved. I did not have any issues right from the planning of the trip until I left the country. My guide and the drive were a very friendly and I must say they really made my trip one of the best. I highly recommend Bhutan Acorn!

What can we say? Chencho has the perfect qualities to ensure your time in Bhutan is all you could hope for. Firstly, be assured every part of your tour will be impeccably organised (you will not notice unless you care to). You may want to take in a darts or archery competition as you pass by: no problem, flexibility to accommodate your wishes is a given. You may need encouragement to cross the river on the chain bridge: a gentle hand awaits. As you trek through the gorgeous mountains your guide will have banter with a friend driving the yaks or another passing en route to Paro. Does he know everyone in Bhutan? (Possibly) With a sixth sense awareness of your goals (and limitations) Chencho will be there to guide, encourage, support. His knowledge of, and respect for, his country is infectious and will add a spiritual dimension to your journey you may not have anticipated. Did I mention, he is gorgeous.

Great experience. This was the second trekking I did with Himalayan Dreamteam. Everything was perfectly arranged, from the pickup at KTM airport, the stay in Kathmandu and off course the trekking itself. Indira and Sameer did everything to get the most out of our trip. The guide we had was very experienced and found the nicest tea houses for overnight stay during the trek. Manaslu Circuit is getting more and more trekkers each year, but still it's very authentic and I think this will stay like this at least the next 5 years. I will definitely come back to Nepal and book with them again.

We had an outstanding trip to Bhutan, even as a global pandemic began to unfold. Our guide Pema and our driver Kencho, were absolutely phenomenal! We met Sonam and Tashi during our trip, and it was clear to us after meeting them, why we were having such a great experience. I highly recommend Bhutan Swallowtail Tours and would DEFINITELY use them again and again.

The Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan "known as the peaceful Dragon country" is slowly emerging from centuries of self imposed isolation, this makes Bhutan a truly unique destination to explore its hidden treasure of ancient culture, religion, architecture and its way of life as it was for centuries, so Bhutan's past is still its present and tantric Buddhism is a way of life.

I booked the 60 minute paraglide with this company, when I arrived the next morning I was told that due to the weather I could only do a 30 minute paraglide but would be refunded the difference when I got back to the shop, my actual paraglide was 15-20 minutes which the pilot explained when we got back to the shop. It turned out this company wasn’t based in Pokhara an had paid a cheaper company to do the excursion, the company I had booked with had told the company I went with that they would refund the difference initially and so they had passed that message on. I was very shocked to learn when I got back that I had not flown with the company I had just paid £120 pounds too, and the women I had spoke to wasn’t the manager and couldn’t do anything for me, she called the manger of the original company who then came to the shop and shouted at me and other members of staff, I actually felt so sorry for the company I had flown with and wish I could have took the money from this horrible company and paid it directly to the company I flew with, the manger of the company I flew with apologised and wrote a letter to explain how short my time was in hope I could get the money back from tripadvisor, the manger of the company I booked with then tried to rip this up. Please don’t waste your time with this company, go directly to the shops in Pokhara for a good experience, this was sadly the worst day I had In Pokhara when every other day was amazing.

I booked a domestic, international Meet and Assist transit service with your company for the first time. To say that I am very pleased with the service is to say nothing. I was met with a name placard just at the aircraft, taken by cart to a luggage pick-up area, and stayed at an arrival lounge for several hours to wait for my international flight check-in. Your customer service representative, Ajay, was extremely professional and attentive, really took great care of me as a solo female traveler with a few big suitcases, it was important to me to get an assist and feel safe during my transit time. When the time for my check-in came, another employee, Beny, with her colleague, accompanied me to the check-in counters and helped me go through all the procedures, taking me straight to my boarding gates. It was the best airport experience I had in India. Definitely worth every penny. Highly recommended!
