We visited Orune for the last weekend of Autunno in Barbagia and couldn’t skip the opportunity to see this ancient and mystical temple. The grounds are beautiful and well curated while maintaining the purity of the wildness of Sardinia. The trails are marked with handcrafted signs marking the flora and fauna of the area which keeps the trail interesting. There are a couple traditional pastoral dwellings along the way and when you arrive at the Temple it is truly awe inspiring. Imagining that humans constructed this temple thousands of years ago is mind boggling when you see the detail and the precision in each stone. Highly recommend this off the beaten path find.

This is well worth a visit when in Sardinia. We took the recommendation on here of using Mariangela Lovicu (find on facebook) as a guide, and it was well worth it. We were picked up in a jeep and here the adenture started with a great off-road drive to the base of the walk through the amazing vallee of Lanitho. Mariangela provided loads of information about the in area, culture, history, flora and fauna on the way, fascinating. We did a great walk up to Tiscala,it was fantastic to be guided and not worry about the way. Once at Tiscala we were provided with some excellent information about the history, amazing to think of the people living there! We were unluckly apparently to not see a pine martin, but Mariangela tried hard to find one for us, and in the end ask the the ticket person to show us a video of one on his phone - maybe next time. We did a great walk back to the car park, and on the way Mariangelina gave us loads of others tips for the rest of the holiday. You have to do this trip and with Marinangelina when in Sardinia! PS Social distancing was very well respected

A really good day, a lot more hilly than I thought it would be and the town roads are tiny, luckily I found a car park. There are murals in most streets, and I do t think I managed to see them all, u fortunately I could not find anywhere that was selling a guide to the murals, although there were plenty of posters advertising the map Next time I visit I will wear a sturdy set of boots and make sure I get a map. Well worth the visit could have spent a lot longer
