Wow, my first visit but won't be my last It is only the muffled sounds of the surrounding city that break you away from the peace and scerenity , it is hard to imagine that such a pristine environment can exist in the heart of Sydney The gardens are immaculately maintained with water features a prominent centre "the Coy Carp are huge" and lazing about the surrounding rocks you will see countless water monitor lizards This is a must see and well done - my hat goes off to whoever is maintaining the gardens

Manly Quarantine Station

I LOVE the Q Station! Walking around it literally feels like travelling in time. You can feel a vibe, a presence - it is quite different from any place I have been to. And IT IS HAUNTED! ;) I had a pleasure of participating in an amazing ghost tour: I learnt a lot about the history of the station - VERY interesting - and I got chills hearing stories about ghost appearances and residual energy imprint haunting in different locations across the Q Station. Walking around such an unusual place in the dark and with just a few lanterns is scary enough but doing so with a black ghost lady as a guide is definitely the next level! And I am pretty sure I saw something in the showers that wasn't supposed to be there! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone looking for more excitement in their lives! By the way, they also great run history tours for those who prefer stay away from the paranormal ;)

Old Government House

Reviewed By geographyguy_11

Visiting Australia's oldest public building was a bucket list item for me and my visit to Old Government House was very nice. It is a bit confusing because you have to buy tickets at the back then walk around the front to enter. Nevertheless, inside is like walking back in time as you go through the dining room, drawing room, breakfast room and bedroom which feel like their 19th century occupants are going to come back in at any moment. Upstairs is an exhibition about the wives of the early NSW Governors and other women involved in the House's history which was OK. It is not a huge building but one of massive historical significance so I would heartily recommend making time to come out to Parramatta and see it. An hour is more than enough for a visit of the rooms that are open. My one issue was that I was not offered a discounted joint ticket to go and visit the Experiment Farm Cottage later on as this would have saved me a few dollars. It is also quite a walk from Parramatta station in hot weather so bring plenty of water.

Rose Seidler House

When completed in 1950, Rose Seidler House was ‘the most talked about house in Sydney’. Today, still surrounded by bushland with panoramic views of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, the house is one of the finest examples of mid 20th-century modern domestic architecture in Australia. Open Sundays only, we encourage visitors to explore the house on their own, with our friendly guides on hand to provide information or help if needed. Please note that due to the fragility of the interior, you will be asked to remove your shoes when entering the house so remember to wear your best socks!

Mount Grenfell Historic Site

over 1000 Aboriginal rock images.

Reviewed By WilNWal - Sydney, Australia

So pleased we took this drive! From Cobar we travelled about 30km west to the turn off to Mt Grenfell another 33km dirtroad which was it self an interesting drive with many different birds spotted along the way! There is a picnic site with amenities at the parking site. The Artsite itself is a well marked walk for confident walkers the pathway is rocky and also requires walking over large rock areas although I'm not a copentent hiker I managed with a very spots where I was guided by my hubby to get the footing safe. The artsite is quite interesting to see and very spiritual gives you a good sense of how the aborigines would have lived. We did not attempt the walk further to Mt Grenfell loop as it was very rocky without a clear path or direction where to walk ( good hiking boots would be required to walk past the 3rd artsite.) We did not attempt any further walking and went back the same way.
