At the entrance to the site off the main road is a barrier and a small guard hut. You could park off road here and walk 0.6km. Or ask the guards to let you drive to the large parking lot but they'll only do this by retaking a personal document like passport or driving licence. We drove in. The site itself is quite large with attractive gardens and some walls of ruined buildings and the church, well three churches combined as a single building . It isn't too impressive from the outside ,unlike say Sopocani, but inside it is absolutely amazing. The narthex, with its large pillars with centuries old frescoes covering every surface, the pillars, walls, ceiling is absolutely stunning. This area is an entrance hall through which you have access to the differently styled, as they were built at different times, three churches. One, the original Church of the Holy Apostles, to which the others were later added ,with its heavy brickwork and darker interior and brilliant ceilings. And the others, similarly stunning but in different ways all add up to a completely amazing collection.

Zvečan Fortress is considered to be one of the oldest fortresses in the Balkans. Due to its strategic and geographic position, it had an important role in the Serbian medieval history. Today the remains of the fortress are still intriguing and interesting for locals, travellers and tourists. Since the pathway was recently built towrds the Zvečan Fortress itself, it is not difficult to find the way. Once you get on the top of the hill and enter the fortress itself, you will be amazed by the incredible panoramic view over the Kosovo and Ibar vallies and the cities of Mitrovica and Zvečan. If you're visiting this area, make sure not to miss this amazing historical place!

Due to the security reasons, the Bogorodica Ljeviška Monastery (Our Lady of Ljeviš) is locked and closed. If you would like to visit it personally or in a group, you need to announce your visit in advance, since the Monastery has a security clearance procedure, that needs to be fulfilled. If you manage to visit its interiors, you will not be disapointed, especially if you're into history and medieval architecture, art and religion. Although the Monastery has severely been damaged in 2004, a detailed restoration of frescoes which has been partially done since then will allow you to enjoy its beauty and its history. The Monastery is considered to be one of the most important historical and architectural sites in Prizren and should not be missed if you're visiting this beautiful amazing city. Once again, make sure to plan your visit to this UNESCO-protected site, since it's usually closed for visitors.
