Hrvatska Kostajnica (Croatian pronunciation: [xř̩ʋaːtskaː kǒstaːjnit͡sa] in German Castanowitz, in Italian Costainizza), often just Kostajnica, is a small town in central Croatia. It is located on the Una river in the Sisak-Moslavina County, south of Petrinja and Sisak and across the river from Bosanska Kostajnica in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This is the former parish church, built in 1720. It was made on the ruins of a wooden chapel of St. Francis. This was probably the first location of Franciscan monastery. After the Homeland war there are only walls and obelisk left. It's located right next to the cemetery.
At the hill of Čukur there is a memorial to Gordan Leder. He was a cameraman of HRT, who died on this place on the 10th of August 1991. He was recording Croatian defenders in the fight against the Serbian attacks and he was shot. The memorial is called "Broken landscape" and it offers beautiful view of Pounje and the town of Hrvatska Kostajnica.
Stained glass windows in the parish church were made by an academic painter Branimir Dorotić. They are representing the patron saint of the city St. Anthony of Padua and the scenes from Jesus' life. It is necessary to announce your visit to the parish priest on the phone number provided. The masses are held on Sundays at 10am and on working days at 6,30pm.
This memorial is dedicated to all the veterans that were killed in Croatian Homeland war. You will find it on the walking trail right next to Una river.
