Ancient castle in Nakhichevan. Was a residence of Atabey dynasty of Azerbaijan and one of the strongest and biggest fortresses in Middle Age East. Located on a mountain's peak, Alinja fortress is now opened as a tourist attraction.

The Winter palace built in 18 th century by Khan (king) of Sheki. Ticket cost 2 man inside you can take a lot of pictures with English speaking guide.
So much has already been said about this palace that it is unlikely people would still come to Sheki without visiting it. And a truly spectacular sight it is. The beauty of the interior wall and ceiling paintings is breathtaking. There is so much to take in that, given the prohibition to take pictures, I wished there was a nice illustrated book available about this and the Winter Palace. There must be one on print, but I couldn't find any on sale on site. If you can get hold of one, even better before your visit, don't miss the opportunity to arrive there prepared for the wonderful sight that awaits you. Sheki has a lot to offer, but if you are short of time, the Sheki Khan's Palace in itself is worth the trip.

Well... as a tourist, you can visit Ghazanchetsots Cathedral, which is beautiful, upper mosque, which is under renovation and fortress. But if you walk around the city, you find ruined apartment buildings and mosques. But at the same time, there are shops selling foods and liquors, kids playing in the park. Yes, there’s a normal life by local people here.

The Double Gates portal is one of the main entrances to the Old City. Nice architecturally (fits right in with the rest of the Old City and its walls), and there's a whole bazaar area right inside the gates where you can buy food or souvenirs to your heart's content...
