Walk this circular 1.5-mile trail through wooded slopes overhung by birch trees, with a stop along the viewing platform that looks over deep chasms and Strathtay.
Just beautiful in Autumn. Take the right hand path of the circular walk it’s an easier gentle climb but worth every step for the sheer beauty of the falls

We started at the bridge of Cally hotel car park and headed on the 8km section to Blairgowrie and down the round trip back to the bridge of Cally hotel.(highly recommend the food here ) This is a great walk through the countryside with great views and lots of wildlife to keep the kids entertained. Some of the trail was a little marshy but most was dry and good for walking on. A couple of small inclines but nothing to challenging. There’s a great tree swing for the kids about 200yards up from the hotel next to an old outhouse. The walk through the forest was lovely especially as it was autumn.

I ran up the woods along good paths to discover this hidden gem then further on to the Edradour Distillery, followed by a sweeping run down hill with a cheeky turn about the Atholl Palace hotel grounds which are a beautifully manicured contrast to the mysterious woods

Lovely relaxing circuit with 3 cafes en-route available for a break if needed. Suitable for those with a basic level of fitness

The walk starts from various places, one of which is really close to the front door of our cottage - The Nurse’s Cottage so we tend to do the walk often. Paths are good, few steep bits in places, but lots of seats to take a rest if you need to. Most of the walk is normally sheep free if you have dogs, but couple of fields to watch out for. Stunning views for the entire walk.

Free car park and well kept solid paths (could be muddy in poor weather). The paths are well signposted with different colours for different routes. There is a map at the car park so you can choose (even some maps in a little dispenser). There are carved wooden sculptures on some parts, along with a couple of iron age forts. The trees are beautiful and provide welcome shade on a sunny day. The views from the top are amazing. Complete 360 degrees and we could see approximately 35kms. Even further on a clear day. Totally stunning.
