We were travelling from Naples to Monte Gargano, so we made a stop in Monte Sant'Angelo to see this wonderful church. It looks like a common church from outside, but the interior is really something you can't see often. So don't miss it if you are nearby.

We had a great trekking half day. Amazing landscape trekking through the forest and national park. Our guide was experienced and took care of the whole group although we had different riding experience. The horses are well trained and it was lovely to have 2 mares with foals with us. You need to be able to understand Italian or be a very experienced rider.

Museo Diocesano

On the ground floor we can admire the archaeological exhibition "Lo spreco necessario". The exhibition aims to highlight the various aspects of luxury in the funeral dimension of the daunian center of Ausculum, showing findings from archaeological excavations conducted in about fifty years of research in a wide chronological period starting from the end of the fifth century B.C. up to the age giulio-claudia of the I century B.C. On the first floor we find "The polychromies of the Sublime", a marble sculptures complex made up of various objects dating back to the second half of the 4th century. B.C. All objects were made of marble from quarries on the island of Paros in the Cyclades, Greece. The finds, discovered in the 70s of the last century by clandestine diggers in the territory of Ascoli Satriano, were purchased from the Getty Museum in Malibu, wich had to return them to the Italian State. The museum tour continues with the diocesan museum on the first floor.
